Kortek Chassis

Hello,
I have a request....if anyone can please mark out all the electrolytic capacitors using ms paint in this kortek chassis for me i will be very grateful to them.

I don't claim to be an expert, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but any of those items that stand up and look like a barrel, and have the Y shape on the top, should be the electrolytic capacitors you are looking for.

Yes, they are both right.

I assume the monitor is dead??

Based on the picture, the electolytic by the flyback has a "Bulged Top".

Just inb case the flyback is the transformer on the right with a red high voltage lead that goes to the picture tube.

If this is so, then it likely dried up, changed value and took ot other components- look for burnt resistors.

Unfortenately the list could go on....

i am helping hammad resolve a few issues with this monitor,he has jail bars which is a cap fault on the ht smoothing circuit and i have told him to change all the caps,the reason he is asking about this particular cap is that someone has attached a resistor to the positive leg of the cap and i don't know why-it is possible its a factory mod but it seems more likely that its  a previous repair and its possible the last repair tech did not have the correct value cap so hence he is double checking the value
i worked on lots of these chassis in the distant past and do not remember any resistors connected to the solder side,if anyone has a schem for this chassis maybe they could look up that cap value

my feeling on this particular cap is to replace it with the value that is in there already and leave the resistor attached,change all the other caps and see what happens-what do you all think?
