Betson Imperial track ball
« on: October 03, 2006, 08:32:12 pm »
I have acquired a used betson trackball.
Which way is "up" (or towards the screen), for this ball?
It has 4 arrows stamped on the top, but neither is identified as up.
Are the wires that exit it supposed to be on the bottom?
I can hook it to my PS2 mouse hack to work in any direction, but I wonder if
there is a certain way it will work best?

Mine has a built in PS/2 interface. The wires exit from the top left corner.
Real Life.  Still a poor substitute for video games!

I doubt it matters. I just mounted mine to the panel and switched wires on the mouse hack until it the orientation was correct. Seems to work fine.

It matters, but you can overcome it with wiring.

Go to the betson imperial website  www.betson.com and they have info on the ball.  It has a diagram.

Thanks for your reply. Im thinking this is the way I will mount mine.

Thanks for your reply too, I cant find that info on the betson site..

Thanks for everyone's help. You would think they would mark one direction as being the best way to turn it..

I plugged mine into a computer and used it - and then marked up.
