im looking for the original set and im wondering how many floppies it came on.    i have the collector's edition but i runs not as well as i would have thought on my 2.7 ghz pc with xp.  the spectres are pink and white and a little blue and theres a pinkish border flashing around the game screen.  so ill kick it up old school so my laptop can play it.

so anyone know how many discs?

You using DOSBox to run that on your XP machine? If not, you should be, would probably fix the problems.

And I think the easiest way to get it to your laptop would be a) network or b) use WinZip's disk spanning feature to copy it to floppy.
$6.75 the hard way-one quarter at a time.

Original DOOM I believe was 3 disk and DOOM 2 was 5 disk.

@nightGod now i mean the collector's edition designed to run in 95 has problems in xp.  its not the dos version but a remade one.  unless you mean instead of using the built in 95 launcher it came with then i will try that.

@thenasty ahh thanks.

was wondering since i want the orig floppy version for the hell of it.  and yes pun intended.
