Could someone share their Ipac4 button config?
« on: November 10, 2005, 05:49:54 pm »
Could someone please share their Ipac4 button config.  You can access this by using the keyboard through the Ipac, going to the start menu, select "run" and open "wordpad".  Once that is open, press ctrl, alt, and p at the exact same time and it will give you ipac options.  Pressing "L" will list what your buttons are coordinated to.  If you could either post or attach that txt file, I would be greatly appreciated.

I need to remap some of the buttons, and I'm looking for ideas.  I don't understand why I have to press the player button 1 to start a game after someone else has already started.

For example, if P1 starts the game, any other player that wants to start has to hit P2B1, P3B1, and so on.  I don't understand because all the buttons are mapped correctly.

Any additional tips would be greatly appreciated,
McCoy178

Sorry, I did not present the second part clearly.  When P1 puts credits in (5), and presses start (1), anyone else can put coins in, but instead of hitting their start button, they have to hit their button 1.  Does that sound clearer?  So if player three puts credits in(7) and hits start(3), then player one could put credits in(5) but would have to hit P1B1 instead of start(1).  I understand that each player has their own coin button, just dont understand what is happening with the start button.

Another big part of this thread:  I requested the ipac listings of others to see how they avoided any button combo issues that I know exist with mame (i.e. P3B3 and P4B2 I believe cause the screen to go black).  I want to avoid these, but I need help.  Hope that cleared things up a little.  Thanks for the help.

some 4 player games are set in DIP/CONFIG (NOT MAME TAB OPTIONS, its in F2) that a player can start the GAME when thier buttons are pressed. Some 4-player games need a seperate START button for it. What GAME is it anyway ?
Maybe start out a NEW CFG file. Delete the DEFAULT.CFG and take it from there.

Excellent idea.  It appears to be that way in TMNT and Sunset Riders.  The only other four player that I tried WWF, start did work on that.
