MAMEmoviemaker question--getting rid of warning screens
« on: November 11, 2005, 02:27:22 pm »
I am using MAMEmoviemaker and it is working fine, however, it often gets caught up on the "this game may not work properly" screen and makes me hit ok for it to go forward with the recording.  Since making all the MAME movies is a LONG process, I do not want to constantly watch the process and have to make sure that I hit OK for it to continue.  I have all the skip disclaimers listed at "1" in the mame config--is there something else to do to get around this issue.
Thanks.

You may have to try using an older version of Mame since the newer versions won't allow you to skip the warning screens.

On an older version, change the following lines in mame.ini
Code: [Select]
skip_disclaimer         1
skip_gameinfo           1
skip_validitychecks     1

I tried that, but I still get some warning signs that require the "ok" to be typed.  Anyone else have this problem and how do you get around it--if at all?

What version of mame are you using? The newer versions don't allow you to skip the warning screen. Try an older version.

headkaze, try GALAGA so you see what he's talking about.

Anyway, the only way is build your own. Changing the source and compiling. Try grabing NoNameMame or Advmame if your not up to compiling your own build. I don't know how that moviemaker your speaking of, but there are some smovies for games already made for us to download. Its just that your frontend must suppport MNG ( I think there are all MNG files anyway).

here is one spot for videos.

Just add skip_warnings 1 to your mame.ini. The problem you describe is why I added the skip_warnings option in the first place.

And the old skip_xxx options are still there in BuddaMAME, there is no need to roll your own compile.

You can use the Darrensweb videos, but I consider them to be of inferior quality.

There are also less than 400 videos on the darrensweb torrent according to the web site, so the new effort by cdbrown & al. is a definite improvement.

So far there is nearly 500 vids just in the first 4 packs - only 23 to go

That video collection of CD and Nivo will probably be a definitive set for some time.  They should contact Circo about getting this to the same torrent site.
