Anyone ever tried using one of these with MAME or any other emulators?

So anybody have a good link for this nerf cd-rom game?  It must not be too popular, since I can't even find it (yet) on nerf.com

Do a google search for Nerf Attack of the Kleptons.

Lots of software places are selling it for under $20.00.

I cannot find a real review of it, but it is a gameport based gun.

Yeah, I found a bunch of those never-heard-of sites that sell it by searching for 'NERF JR FOAM BLASTER', but I was looking for a little real information about it, and most of those sites didn't tell me anything.

That's probably a killer; I wouldn't be suprised if it only works with this one game at that specific resolution.  Reminds me of the Barbie digital camera my daughter used to have; it had no TWAIN interface, and would only work with the included Barbie software.

You can find them on ebay for less than a dollar.
http://search.ebay.com/nerf-foam-jr_W0QQfrppZ50QQfsopZ1QQmaxrecordsreturnedZ300

Perfect price for hacking ;)
or if you are building a kids cab you could leave it as it is

It's supposed to be "accurate up to 5 feet away"

I'm going to give one a try and see if it might work with MAME or anything other than the included game

I would be interested in trying to hack one.   But I don't have the time soon (so I wont be bidding).

This was taken from the eBay description: "25 Unique locations"

I assume you get 5x5 resolution.  Nice!    :P

Have anyone tried this from http://www.erealgames.com ?

This is a sensor gun and not a light gun so if this works ok than we can forget about screen flashing and other complications. This gun should also work nicely in analog gun games.

I cannot see any reason why this gun shouldn

Hello...

Has everyone missed my point by saying that this G1 gun does not come in a PC-version ???

This gun is as GunCon2 compatible as every other gun and it will probably work perfectly with the pc-driver.

The G1 gun is not a "light gun" and it doesn

ZeroPoint, if you're asking if the G1 gun will work with smog's GunCon2 driver I have no idea.

If someone here already has one of these it would be great if they could test it on the PC.

If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

That sucks!

But I don't think they'll care about the neg feedback, they've got 242 negatives in the last year!   But when you have 72,000+ sales, those negs don't mean so much.

Hope it works out.

My payment has been refunded and I've decided not to persue this any further, at least with this seller.   :(  I don't feel like ruining my 100% positive feedback over some silly lightgun and I'm sure I'll find one again someday...

It's a shame that people like this are out there.  Once an auction ends and payment has been sent the winning bidder is the new owner of the product and should be treated as such!  BASTARD!

Looks like you can get one for $11 shipped from this place...

Considering doing that, I'll let y'all know.

I would try it, but I can't get the GunCon2 to work (using a VGA monitor)...

Anyone already using the new GunCon2 drivers willing to try it?

There are liability issues when manufacturing toy guns, which these basically are.  Besides, the NERF one is designed for kids.  Would you really be comfortable watching your 4-year-old waving an imitation chrome .45 around?

IMO the best looking lightgun is the Mission Gun, that's what I'm planning to use (along with SMOG's driver).

A little off topic but, are there any light guns that will work with a PC, and can be used on a TV screen, and use 2 for 2players? This is for mame of course.

If you want to drop ~$160, you can use the Act-Labs TV version light gun.  Right now only 1 gun can be used with smog's driver (I think...might be wrong) but 2 guns simultaneously are in the works I think.  Check the GunCon2 (Bacon is tatsy) thread and Smog's site/forums for more accurate and up-to-date information.
