The Glock pistol as well as many guns are reliable, just like a certain method of cab building, that dosent mean i follow, it means i like to do things the best way that we (as a people) know how, if thats what you're referring to.
One day in your life (i hope it never happends) you will need a gun for protection and you will be helpless.
ho hum. even in america 99.9 % of people live their whole lives without ever needing to have used a gun. in five years youll buy the new latest gun even though people wont actually be any harder to shoot- that is a good indicator of fashion.
ill leave it at that because this has all been gone over before here. there was a guy named T_A_pilot (i think) who ONLY talked about guns. he had no interest in cabs. anyway, for the record BECAUSE of these forums i am a little LESS anti-gun than i used to be.
to summarise, there are two points i raised.
surely a 9mm is enough to incapacitate someone? (if it doesnt the first time, shoot him again! dont you train every week for this? surely you have more than one bullet in there?).
and my other point is that owning a glock seems to be the latest fashion. surely there are other guns that are just as good? it's not a racing car. you just need to stop an intruder with it. i dont know a lot about the world of guns i admit but the first example that comes to mind is the australian army. they stopped using M16s maybe 15- 20 years ago in favour of steyrs (which are licence built here). obviously we adopted them because we thought they were superior. so that should mean that all armies will adopt them (including the US) because they are better.
anyway, for more of the same look up t a pilots threads...
