Coin up in Advancemenu or Arcadeos
« on: March 08, 2005, 08:56:12 am »
hi guys, i am wondering how to coin up a credit before you actually get into the game itself???

i am using a Jpac/arcade monitor and the Omnicade installation!

normally you would enter the game first then coin up, which is not normal procedure for a multigame systems that are out there today!

Here we go again with this..Been talk to death already...

and your next question would be "Can I transfer credits to any game chosen".

Its all posibble but non of the Author of FE wants to support it for a good reason.

if you use Advmame, you can use a script alogn with advmenu so when you insert a coin, it loads that game and give the player 1 credit but as far as the remaining credits being transfered to another game, kepp dreaming

my bad!!!!

newbie to this posting and didn't know how to search the right thing!

if this works like you say, once game is over does it revert back to front end with your games choices again or do you have to make an exit button?

if this has been talked to death can you at least show me some previous posts to read and follow steps on how to accomplish this?

thanks and sorry,
Kelly

once game is over, game is over and sits there until you exit, however in advmame you can set it for Inactivity so it quits by itself.

Play around with it, but as far as the way you'd like it, It not out there for a particular reason.

some here just have a button for credits and some set it up for free play, it is in the house so no big deal.

I don't know what Thenasty is on about. Atomic FE supports this, and the author has been hyping it on this very forum for quite some time.  Just scroll down the page and look for Atomic FE Now For the US! or go to http://www.atomicfe.com .

It IS for windows, though. But this FE has so many features, you may want to upgrade your OS.

Call me crazy but I'm not getting the point of this feature.  Is it so you can allot a certain amount of credits total regardless of which games they play?  Maybe to keep kids from playing forever.  Just curious...

The one reason why FE author don't support is that it might be used for business/making profit. You're right, for this feature to be supported is crazy, you don't need this for HOME USE.

Ahh, makes sense now.  That's about the only application I can think of other than limiting your kids to a certain # of games total.  And let's hope they aren't marathon game players   ;)
