Annoying message screens
« on: January 27, 2005, 05:40:16 pm »
I'm using EK-MAME PLUS! with the Emulexian front end.  I have EK-MAME configured to not display the game information or warning screens.  This works great when I kick off a game from EK-MAME.  When I kick off a game from the FE I get the press any key, etc...

I have reviewed the INI files and they are correct to skip the warnings and such.  Can anyone help me.  It's annoying me that I can't figure it out. >:(

Since the emulator is from Korea the help is limited.

Thanks!

if the GAMEs are flag with KNOWN problems, SOUND not 100% working, VIDEO Emulation is not perfect etc... That msg will always comes up to remind you that this GAME has problems and don't report if it does not work or not working the way it should.
YOu already done the DISCLAIMER and GAMEINFO, but this problem if you want it to go away, you find or build your own EXECUTABLE.

The messages that I'm trying to suppress are the disclaimer and game info.  The non-working ones I'm not worried about.  When I run the game from EK-MAME I don't get the disclaimer or game info screens.  When I kick off that same game from the FE I get them.

what FE are you using ? maybe that FE is looking at MAME.INI and you need to put "1" on there too..

best way is to set them to 1 in your mame.ini

if your not going to add those properties in your mame.ini then you could always add them as commandline options in the fe

in the listmanager go to the mame emlator cfg and choose edit. then click on the commandline options field and add this:

10|mame|-skip_disclaimer -skip_gameinfo|

Thanks, that did it.  Now I just need to figure out how to change my settings back so I see 3D models again.  I was experimenting and now I see 3D model not found.  I guess I can uncompress the original zip files into another directory and look at the differences.

One more question.  I read through the install doc about setting up Visual Pinball.  Will I need Howard's VP-Launcher (wrapper) or does Emulaxian have it's own?  In other words which exe will I point the FE at?

Thanks again for such a great FE!!!!!
