Name that game (Please...!)

[Bones]

I was just going through some ROMS and came across ASO- Alien Scum Object.

In the early stages of this game there are these "eye looking things" that shoot at you. It was at this moment this "eye thing" looked very familiar.....

It reminds of another game with a similar looking eye that would also shoot at you. Anybody have any ideas as to what the other game would be? I have checked my collection and can't find anything that looks like what I remember.

In fact, I remember very little about the game except I liked it and it had an eye!

Anyone?

I also did a search on "eye" and came up with nothing that helped. I think the eyes were just another type of enemy in the game.

It was a srcolling shooter style game from memory....

No the eyes were like......ummmm.... -Like cannons or something that would open/blink and a bomb or bullet would fire from them.



Man have I downloaded some A grade crap in the search for this one!

are eyes throughout the game, or is it just one part? I want to say it's Altered Beast...cuz at the end of the 2nd level you have that big eyeball to fight, and it shoots eyeballs at you too!

Nah it's nothing like Altered Beast. I suppose it's similar to Xevious in some ways. I remember you could only shoot the eyes when they were open.

Perhaps they weren't even eyes, maybe they were domes that opened or something like that.....

It's called Mega Zone. Year 1983, by Konami.

They still look like eyes, but the game isn't half as good as I remember!

heh, yeah old games you thought were cool when you were little are never as fun when you find them later

Actually, I have now played it for about and hour in total and it's growing on me again!

Not a bad game IMHO. I like the fact that it's not so cluttered as the newer types are. Not be able to fly on top of the vegetaion is neat. The music was unexpected also. What happens when you get to the "top" or "end" of the map? Is ther another level?

Yeah it's not bad is it? I have no idea what happens when you get to the end, I can only get about 1/2 way so far.

The challenge is on!!! Who will get to the end and put us all out of our misery?  (Without cheating of course!)
