This is an oldie, but a goodie.. (Sorry about the Sonny Bono reference)...

Top Ten Affects if Canada and the United States merged into one nation:

1.We'd be a kick ass nation with some kick ass beer!
2.The Blue Jays would finally belong in the American League
3.Red white and blue flag shaped like a maple leaf
4.All politicians would henceforth be known as Hosers!
5.one word: Americanada
6.New rodeo attraction: bear back riding.
7.Change of spelling from "about" to "aboot"
8.Quebec forced to take Detroit if it wants to cecede.
9.Condos line Hudson Bay
10.The Mackenzie brothers can join Sonny Bono in Congress!!!

Funny list. I love top-tens.

Off-topic: Is "affects" a typo, does it mean something else then effects or can you spell it in two different ways? Not riding you here for a typo or my misunderstanding, but I was reading a manual (yes I know I should be ashamed of myself for doing that unmanly thing) and they used the word "affect" all the time too (where I assumed they meant "effect").

Actually, I just cut and pasted the whole thing off the Bob and Doug web site with the word "affect". I left it as is but you have a point there about affect versus effect...

I think they should have used word "effect"as this is what I think they were meaning (i.e., the result of Canada and US merging).

But then again, maybe it was a spoof on the website as Bob and Doug are not known as being the sharpest tools in the shed.

To heck with Molson, you gotta try Sleeman's next time yer here, or maybe some Maudite. Maudite is brewed in Quebec and packs a whopping 8% alcohol content. A steady stream of those and yer on yer @rse in no time

Seriously, I have no idea what anything else means.

I don't understand "Americanada".

Canada is part of the North American continent.

It's like calling the USA, AUSA -- "The American United States of America".

AUSA only makes sense if you play dodgeball.
