I used to play but have no other friends that play anymore.  I sold most of my cards, but found a bunch more actually this last weekend, so its funny you mention this now.

Maybe someone on your forum will want to buy my cards ;)

I need to get rid of my old cards too.  I have only a few hundred Magic cards, but thousands of Shadowrun and Star Wars (pre-Episode 1) cards.  Does anyone know of a good place to sell them?

are we talking about MAGIC as in David Cooperfield, Doug Henning,  Lance Burton,  Melinda, Blackstone, Houdini, Cardini, Thenasty, Randy, Ricardo,  etc...etc... or is it some sort of Cards that you PLAY ?

That's cool an all.  But I have found WoTC official forum to be the best one out there.

Got a question for you, do you control the website completely?  I might have something for you that I have been working on.

Magic was one of those games I really, really wanted to get into.  I have a bunch of cards and spent eons teaching others to play.  But it kills the fun when I have to refer back to a very large rulebook to see how 'Madness' works and exactly when you're allowed to play Artifacts and so on.  I like games but if I can't learn it in a day then I don't really bother.

Nice board though.  One thing: you might want to change 'bigotism' (not a word) to 'bigotry'.  And you don't have to use bigotry (your example sentence) to tell others not to be racist, kind of tacky - ya know.  Good luck.

I haven't played in about 8 years, since Ice Age first came out.  I have two boxes of cards sitting on a shelf in my computer room... I don't even think I remember how to play.  All my cards are from Revised, 4th edition, Legends, Fallen Empires, Ice Age, Arabian Nights, and The Dark.

It actually isn't that tough since most of the rulings are written on the cards these days.

Magic has gotten insane. I thought that I was crazy when I got my power nine for like, 90-130 each. Each one is well over 200 now. Damn, I need to get to ebaying. I've got a virtual goldmine that I've sat on for the last five years.

Yeah, seriously, there is some cash in these things.  Like I said, I sold what I thought was "all" of my cards through ebay and others a little over a year ago I guess.

To answer Floyd's question - most of the cards I've found are newer ones, I don't even honestly remember where they came from.  There is a complete Invasion booster box, some Prophecy, some Invasion, an Invasion deck pack, and a Championship deck I believe.  Definitely not the most expensive stuff, like I said though, I didn't even know I had the damn things heh.

I played one or twice. I could never get anyone else into it. I have a stack of cards just sitting in my basement. I should sell them on ebay.

Agreed, but there's only so much detail you can go into in the limited space.  Besides, I figured most of it out - it's trying to teach everyone else that's a bit of a grind.

Actually I find it easy to teach people, must be my methods, and I have powerful yet easy to understand decks for starters.  Though I do have some that take too much thinking.

I used to play that game. Met my wife playing it. Hell, I even used to be a level 3 DCI judge for the damn thing. Never had a problem with the rules (read the entire comprehensive floor rules and card errata for fun before my level 3 test).

I had to get out of it because the players became, for lack of a better term, ---punks---. It used to be that you could actually have a conversation with the person that you were playing with. It was fun to play the game. Now, people seem to forget that it is just a game (albeit a very expensive one now).

Too much attitude for my liking. I considered going back in for the Unhinged prerelease, but I think too many players have lost the ability to actually enjoy the game.

I find myself in the hypocritical position of being dorky enough to build an arcade cabinet, yet thinking card games and the people who get into them must have been dropped on their heads too many times growing up.

edit:  um...please read that last sentence as though I didn't say anything about cardgames getting dropped on their heads.
