Arcade OS (2.50)  Issues / Questions - Any help greatly appreciated

1. JukeBox screen saver: Some games freeze up (1944, Ghouls and Ghosts) intermittently when screen saver cycles through them.  Other games, (Galaxian) never cycle to the next game.

2. I want to have ArcadeOS boot up upon power-up which I did by calling go.bat in the autoexec.bat file.
I really want to boot into Arcade OS and run Moon Patrol right away.  I can run Moon Patrol via a command line in autoexec.bat but if the user exits out of moon patrol I want them to go to ArcadeOS and not a command prompt.
If I could get Moon Patrol to be the screen saver, that would be awesome.  Any ideas?

3. Do not see the FPS display on the menu after running a game.

4. Some games with screen shots do not display the screen when browsing the game list.  How does ArcadeOS match the game in the list with the screenshot in "snaps"?

Hi there :)

Did you ever (or does anyone else know?) find out the answer to Q 4 here?

How DOES ArcadeOS match the snap files with the games? We can update both the flyers and the ROMs using the 'update' facility, but do the same to the snaps, we don't have ANY showing!

Is this just a setting in cfg? Or do we need to edit the path somehow? Seem strange that the other two work and the snaps dont?

Thanks :)

TJ

maybe the answer for #4 is that the screen shot your using has more thatn 256 color. If I remember correctly, AOS only uses 256 colors or less or else it won't show, and thats the only reason why I moved to Advmenu.

Thanks for the advice :)

We have the images as 256 colours and also in 8 bit format. We still cant get them to show. We're using ArcadeOS and AdvMAME. Just can't figure it out at all.

I'm just wondering where the files go? Using the 'update' feature in ArcadeOS, is it placing them in c:\Mame\snap? (if C is the drive used). I've checked that they're in this file and they do seem to be all present and correct.

*scratching head* ???

This is weird -

If we put the snap pictures in the 'flyers' folder, we get the snaps picture perfect coming up. Move them back to the folder called 'snap' and nothing.

Is there a setting in AdvMAME that's the equivalent to 'show background images' or something?
