Help with hookup
« on: September 29, 2015, 03:43:09 pm »
Can anyone help me understand what all these connections are, or where to find the info online? The monitor is a WG D9200. I'd like to clear everything out of this cabinet except the monitor, and then install the PC that I've got ready to go. I just can't really understand this mess of all the wires coming from the monitor and which ones I can disconnect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

doesn't look like a mess.

anyway, looks like everything must be connected.

far left on top is the degaussing coil (need that). just below it looks like power to monitor and last on right, just leave it there (maybe got something to do with VGA connection). Test it out by unplugging to see if everything works fine.

But leave the other 2 alone.

the yellow wires are video from your game board...if you are gutting it pull that connector off. you'll only need the 15 pin VGA connector.

the other black/white/green is power for the monitor...you may power it however you like. it does not require isolation or special power. hell, you can wire a 3 prong plug on there and plug it into a power strip.

the brown/white wire is degauss. you need it there, just leave it. it's attached to the tube anyways.

everything else can go.

Would you also be able to tell me what that black cable with the gray little box is? It's located on the left between the two red circles. I forgot to circle it when I posted the picture.

Ok, so I got everything gutted and unhooked. I hooked up my computer to the VGA slot in the back of the monitor and powered it on. I just get an image that says NO SIGNAL. Any idea what I can try?

Edit: Never mind. I've got it to say OUT OF RANGE now. I believe I know what to do.

I've got another question for anyone willing to help... So I've got a Wells Gardner D9200 and VGA port on the back, what is the best solution for getting the most accurate resolution and refresh rate specific to each game?

These are the things I've seen others talking about using:
  • Arcade VGA
  • CRT Emudriver with Radeon HD 4000 series graphics card
  • Soft 15KHz
  • GroovyMAME
  • AdvanceMAME
What is the best combination of things to use with the monitor I have? Are there other things out there that I'm not aware of?

Thanks again for any help you can provide!

you'll need to feed that straight 640x480 60hz only.

you can open your video card properties and show all the video modes. switch from there. even 800x600 will be too much for it.
