I like the way you did the woodwork around the window with the little extender to the ceiling.  That is a neat touch.

The trimwork hides the edge of the tub surround. My 1954 home is looking very modern these days, with the final exception of the kitchen. It's got tan walls (like full on clay colour) and red countertops. But I'm going to wait out the summer and get back to renos in the winter.I'm gonna keep the cupboards and build all new doors to save money but then new countertops and appliances should spruce it up a bit.

Also I agree with yots. ---fudgesicle--- Lowes. And Home Depot. They always answer my questions with a question. For example: Where are the brad nails? Answer: Well, what are you trying to do?

I've worked a ton of retail and have to defend them on this one.  The overwhelming majority of customers are idiots and actually have no idea what they are looking for, or are looking for the completely wrong thing for what they are doing.  They've heard a few "buzz word" type phrases and toss them around as if they know what they are doing.  These are also the idiots that are most likely to complain about you to your boss when you show them EXACTLY what they are asking for - which happens to be the wrong thing.

lol that's what I was thinking. Your home depot has someone that knows the product? Like if you are such a wizard plumber why are you making $14 an hour at the 'depot?

That bathroom looks slick. I didn't prime enough on my wainscotting and it has raised grain that grabs any dirt, dust, or even fibre from the rag I tried to wipe it clean with. Looks like you did a good job!

How is their "arcade".  Last time we were at our Fuddruckers they had gotten rid of the Cruisin' games and replaced them with redemption machines.  They still have a sweet Nascar game out front though.

I'm sitting 10 feet away from three cranes (one out of order), a turned-off Fast and the Furious,  a Whistle Stop redemption game, a big ass Batman, and a working Ms. Pac-Man Galaga Reunion.

I moved into a new apartment with a horrible kitchen. I sanded everything down and painted and added new hardware. I love it. I also started writing a novel. That's so much more difficult than the kitchen. The level of discipline required . . . I pretty much have to stop being me if I ever want to finish it.

Yesterday, I found a potential new happiest place on earth.  Schafly's in St. Louis still has the edge but this is close and I don't have to live in Missouri.

After pumping laboratory animals full of experimental drugs, 4th was kicked off with tacos, as is the style in Texas

Supposedly going to some massive fireworks and country western concert tonight.

Well, I'm chuffed.  Picked up a gutted cocktail last night, thank you very much Yots!  It needs a lot of work, but it's gonna be nice for one major reason.

The wife REQUESTED it.

You know how everyone has that one cab they remember from when they were a kid?  Well her's is a Ms Pac-Man cocktail from Pizza Hut.  When I started in this hobby that was the one thing she wanted.  I had to promise her that she'd get a Ms Pac cocktail someday.  Well, here we go!  I'll be starting a project thread shortly.

Glad to help out, brother. I have templates for the control panels if you want to try making them out of metal sheets. Hell, depending on your timeframe, I might even be able to help cut them for you.

I talked to my neighbor this morning. I thanked him for keeping an eye on the place. He said he hadn't see your car before, so he wanted to make sure nothing fishy was going on.

Any time I read the word brother, in any context, it is said in the voice of Hulk Hogan or Randy Savage.

It's for my 12 year old daughter's bathroom. So it fits.

Glad to help out, brother.
Any time I read the word brother, in any context, it is said in the voice of Hulk Hogan or Randy Savage.
Heh. I like using "brother" instead of, say, "man" or "bro".

I held a door at the 7-11 for some guy, and he said "thanks, brah." 15 years later and it still goes through my head any time I hold a door for someone.

One of the great ironies of my life is I don't care much for country music, yet have seen most big names live.  Many of them twice.  Those cheap tickets are hard to resist and I like rodeos.  Houston fireworks show was a pretty good deal for $10 and now I can mark Clint Black off the list.

I draw the line at Garth, though.  He's 90s target #4 if I ever get a time machine.
