Ha!    We've both been there, done that, ended horribly for both of us.  She is a keeper though, been together almost 7 years now.

If it is hoppy I would like it.  The label is sweet as well.

There is an "8-bit" beer with Pac Man on the label that is just horrendous.  It is so bad I was considering having my youngest try it just so he would get the idea that beer is nasty.

Wailing Wench by middleages brewing is one of my favorite hoppy beers.
However if an even more annoyingly inappropriately named & packaged beer full of hoppy goodness were to surface I would possibly switch to that.

I'm totally with you, hit up a buddy's growler of a local craft brew and couldn't even finish the pint - waaay too fruity citrusy for my tastes.

In my case it was an IPA...or at least was supposed to be before they ruined it with their craftiness.

That makes sense then.  I've not had an IPA that was fruity and it is usually my go-to-beer when I'm at a new brewery.

Dammit! They've ruined all the porters and stouts with chocolate and coffee and vanilla and gods knows what else, and now they are trying to fruity up the IPA's??

I drink Ale's and detect no citrus. Just bitter hoppy goodness.
And a serious buzz after one 16oz bottle.

guiness is still guiness.

But a coffee vanilla porter is damn good.
Oh and caged howler monkey IPA is phenomenally hoppy.
Still don't detect fruityness.

Belgian wheats however have been bent over by whole orchards it seems.
Especially the shocktops.
don't get me wrong, just like bud light lime their good to drink on a hot summer day while doing yard work but not something i'd drink for enjoyment of flavor.
