Need help with easy art
« on: February 24, 2014, 08:28:58 pm »
Here I am 2 hours in and I cannot do it. I am trying to make the numbers go to 11 around a 3.5" circle. Can any of you wizards lend a hand?

Actually there's 12 numbers not 11  (it includes 0) so would be 30 degrees (360/12 = 30) but from the pic it looks like the spacing between 11 and 0 is also not the same as the other spacing.

Thanks guys I tried to do it all fancy... in the end, got a t-shirt print, and made another layer and just drew on top of it. Probably a technique an art student would laugh at, but i got it done!

Gave it a try and came up with this if you want it : (also have the .psd with layers if you want) -- It was made at 300DPI so was proper size when created but the forum or PS seems to change it when converted to png or posted (the .psd in the .zip attachment is proper size )

I was just drawing it for ya (its actually 28.9 degrees allowing for a slightly wider gap b/w 0-11). I'll finish it anyway  :D

I dunno guys.  You'll have to find the center and align that perpendicular to a horizontal level surface.  Then you'll have know where the physical stops of the potentiometer are.  You could put zero and eleven where you want, but if they don't relate to the physical stops of the pot, it doesn't matter.

Wait a minute...what is this for?  A real amp?

I've never played or heard of a guitar amp with detented pots. In fact, 99% of guitar amps (even big expensive ones!) use passive EQ anyway, so technically on full it is at zero and everything else is a cut!

lol no not a real amp. I'm getting it printed on vinyl and applying it around the trackball on my spinal tap cab. Hoping the metal gets cut this week! Stay tuned!

Here's what I've got so far, just need a few finishing touches

I'll have the vinyl decal on Saturday, but I'm still waiting for the metal shop to get the brass in stock! Hopefully soon!

It's printed, my brass will be cut on monday or tuesday... so I need to drill the holes, clean the brass, clear coat it, and re-assemble. I'm hoping by friday this part of it will be complete!

Nice!

Perhaps add a Marshall logo like this http://www.themusiczoo.com/product/2744/Marshall-6-in-Amplifier-Logo-White/ on the vertical section?

:( but I only have one full stack plus a 2x12. Well two full stacks if you count the mini practice amp stack. I should do a photo shoot.

All the brass is clear coated, and the control panel is plexi covered. You can come play it any time.
