Selecting wanted/unwanted console roms
« on: November 14, 2003, 06:41:38 pm »
I have an large set of roms for some console systems and which each set, there are multiple roms for each game--ie, japanese, european version, etc.  I have a MAMEwah setup and just want one version of each game to appear in the gamelist.  The question is how do I select which console roms I want used to isolate them and put them into the rom folder without all the other versions of the roms included?  Other than hand picking each rom, which would take forever, how do you get only one rom per game and chose which version of the roms you wish to have.
Thanks.

move *[E]*.* c:\roms\console\europe

I used windows search.  I searched for , [JUE] ect... and then manually selected out of the search results all of the roms I wanted for my cab.  A little tedious, but I now have the lists I want with no duplicates.

Note:  You may want to check out the good codes to insure your list has no bad roms.
