Original XBOX and UnleashX help................

Greetings, so I just got my modded 320gb UnleashX xbox back, and going through many of the games on, the MAMEOX emulator, that I wanted to play, don't actually work. It'll boot up but then I get the error message that says; ERROR: the required files are missing and the game cannot be run. This has occurred on a whole bunch of games that I wanted to play once sticking the thing into my cabinet. I got the xbox on EBAY, but I haven't the slightest clue as to where to start or even HOW to start downloading roms and other games on the xbox.

It looks like all the hard work has been done as far as the chip modding and installing the hard drive, and there's quite a bit of other game emulators and programs as well, its just the essentials aren't there! I mean cmon Donkey Kong (all 7 versions JandA all of which don't work), Radiant Silvergun, Pole Position all unplayable....I could really use some help!!!! thanks guys

Head on over to xboxscene.com check out the newbies guides. They will teach you how to access the files on your xbox.  Chances are you are missing the roms which we cannot help you with here. But you need to figure out what version of roms you need for your setup.

Get CoinOPS 5 which will sort out the file issue.

I bet it has something to do with your caches or you are not using the correct roms/corrupted roms/the list is endless.

thanks for the responses, Ill try xbox scene.com, the only thing is I haven't the slightest clue as to how to download roms or even get the thing (xbox console connected to the internet. I am assuming that I have to hook it up through my pc. Id love coin ops 5 but was wondering about compatibility issues with UnleashX ?

gist is you download ROMS to your PC, then FTP them over to the XBOX

Get CoinOPS 5 which will sort out the file issue.

UnleashX is nothing but a front-end really that launches other programs. Compatibility is not a problem. You can try xbox-scene, but they are pretty strict as well when it comes to discussing ROM images. To find more info about CoinOps5, head over to http://coinopsproject.freeforums.org/portal.php, but be ready as it's a hefty 64gb+ download for the full version.

OK, so are you saying to go to that forum and find out how to download/install coinops 5? or just inquire about how to go about doing it? I have enough HD space if it is indeed 64gb.  I would just like some solid know how and was hoping someone here could tell me exactly how to do it..... but thank you anyways. I had no idea how tedious this could be...............

When it comes to software investigation we prefer you to do that side of the business as CoinOPS usually includes roms and we cannot tell you where to find them as it is against the rules.

I know that sounds kinda uncool, but in reality I found CoinOPS very quickly just using Google.

It would be a wonderful world if we had a place we could get the answers to everything, but in reality it is not the case.

You can get just the application or you can get various flavours of releases based on your HDD space.

I just get tired of seeing people posting questions that I can be found in 5 secs.  It isn't that difficult.

And to be honest you are just being lazy.

If you go to that link you will:

1) Find out where to get CoinOPS
2) How to Install it
3) Learn of its capabilities
4) Discover links and contacts that discuss the same subject.
5) Make friends

What more do you want?  Your hand holding? 

It is not that difficult.  Look:

1. Get CoinOPS
2. FTP to your Xbox from your PC
3. Put the Coinops 5 folder it in your F Drive
4. Edit the XML file for UnleshX -> so it knows where to look for the CoinOPS 5 default XBE in F
5. Start Coinops 5 and let it install itself
6. Start Playing Games

Something goes tits up between installing and starting it up we can help.
