Slow Down Issues - With Certain Games
« on: March 16, 2013, 09:31:12 am »
Again I mentioned in another post last night was the 1st time I really tried out my Cabinet with my Brother-in-law and Stepson.  For the most part the games seemed to play ok.

MK2 we played about 35 minutes
Track Field we played about 30 minutes
Shinobi we played about 20 minutes
KungFu I played about 20 minutes

And those all seemed fine But a couple games seemed to lag after a bit
Double Dragon started out fine but by the time we got to the second level...it just seemed to lag
Elevator Action 2 just seemed laggy from the get go
NBA Hangtime seemed to let us play a full game fine but midway through the second it started to lag.

Is there anything I can do about these types of issues?  I had not really noticed it until last night.

Thanks,
Rich

Some games has slow down in the real arcade/hardware - this is emulated correctly (dunno which ones).

If said games are not those games, try lowering down the samplerate to 44khz instead of default 48khz or even lower it down to 22khz.

But then again, you might have some heat issue or underpowered machine.

I know how to set those settings in mameui32 but how do you do it with mame.exe?
Thanks

edit the MAME.INI file.

Find the game in the list when I open the .ini in notepad?  then edit audio settings?

editing the mame.ini only seems to do it for all games.  I just want to change the specific games that are having issues.  Ids that possible?

GAMENAME/Samplerate 22050 or make GAMENAME.INI and change it there only.

Need to start RTM.
