Missile Command not working
« on: December 08, 2011, 08:25:10 pm »
Is anyone else having issues with Missile Command not working?  I have the 143 set and am running 143.  I also tried 144, but to no avail.  I'm running MAME64.  If I run it from the command line it says that one or more of the ROMS and or CHD files is missing... If I run it from Hyperspin, it just doesn't start... Ive tried older versions of the ROM that I know work with older versions of MAME and it still won't work.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

if MAME says your missing files, thats just it. Frontends like Hyperspin will not make make anything work if MAME says your missing files.
(maybe your ROM path is wrong, check that, is any other games work?)

take a look here if you have all the files required for the game.

Use a ROM manager like Clrmame to see if it can possibly fixed (again if you have the files required) it.
Maybe you have the files somewhere in the other clone set and clrmame can fix it by putting in the right place.

But always remember "If you are missing FILES, NOTHING can FIX or MAKE IT WORK) you need to find the missing files.

You're right, I was missing one ROM in there.  I just had the MAME.xml file point to the Rev 2 version instead and it works fine now.  Thanks!

Also, does anyone have an issue with Galaga on a cocktail for player 2 where the screen flips to the player 2 side and a portion of the video is "off screen"?  Basically the screen gets stretched to where you can't see your guy...Only on the player 2 side when the screen flips whether it's a vertical or horizontal monitor.

Thanks!

All that is fixed in latest current U revision of MAME (0.144u3).
