Sounds good. What about players/courses? Anything unlocked or using stock players/courses for now?

I need a suggestion, Ed.  I have someone that I can grab some Dell Optiplex computers off of at a reasonable price.  Would you think these would be OK to run PGA?  They are the GX260 and GX280.  I remember someone using an Optiplex to run PGA in this thread but there was only a sound issue.  Just wondering what you thought?  I want to get myself and my brother online and playing some PGA as soon as you say it's a go.

hi
first off i would not buy a mother board...
i have them given to me.
so i am in dif mind set,
but as i have been saying the code is sp3
so it will find it and want to up-date the register
that was a biatch btw
if u know the >h-key-value< it want's to tinker with i will need to set it
as a allowed value
or u can do it your  self /start/control-panel/my-coumpter/add remove device's
then click the drop down list, stop at audio driver
let it get the file  DO NOT ALLOW IT TO AUTO LOAD,save to desktop
SCAN make sure it is clean,
then/start/my-coumpter/adm/ there is a wack of drop down's
look for register..H-KEY'S:
make a back-up of the register
save it to usb
very important info there
THEN IF IT PASSES THE TEST
LOAD IT IN
the reason for this is ppl will and do grab file's :dll'd/oxc's/.exe's from just about any site ,which is very bad...

let me process your code

and a q here did u pull it from driver's ? or the mfg's site ?
from driver's it will not pass..it is on the HARD CODED BLACK LIST

i will tinker with this last peace of code
and then let's kick that aussie's azz

as u ppl should now have all your answer's

If we can get all of this going I would be happy to launch and host a website for all of us tournament players.  We can hold scheduled tournaments and keep track of a leader board.  That would be good times.  It would be fun to be playing 72 rounds of golf on the same course during the same time the PGA is hosting tournaments all year round.

Does anyone know how tournament play on PGA works? I've never played PGA in an arcade or bar setting and was wondering how it works online. Does everyone play tournaments simutaneously or does a tournament stay open until all players complete their round? How are the leaderboards updated and how do you send invites to play? Any details would be appreciated!

Dirt, sorry to hear about the death in your family. I wish you and your family well. I hope you get your tower back soon.

Hi STP
I'm the wrong guy to ask as I know as much as u. Ed the man that can answer all our questions.
I was just replying to his post back up the page where he asked me to email him the number of games I want to host?  Not to sure exactly what that meant n just wanted to know if what i sent him made sense???

I'm sure all our questions Ed will answer soon. Till then let just keep playing and enjoy.

Thx

Spitfire, are you running the server to host games or is Ed?

Ed, do you still need me to have a dedicated computer running 24/7 as you suggested a while back?  How far out are we at this point?

Thanks guys.

post a few pics of the cable (particularly the disassembled 9 pin end) perhaps you just have a wire in the wrong spot.

weird, mine has one of these on it:

perhaps there are multiple versions of the sign that require different cables?

you could meter out the pins and see where they go. I can tell you if the cable is wrong/different to the one i have.

to be honest, I haven't had the display hooked up to the machine for years. It got removed due to a roof height restriction in the first location it went to...it never made it back on after that.

I would guess it depends what version software is running as well as the last bit of info that was in the computer to be sent to the display from IT.

i imagine once ed gets everything all set up and you start playing tournaments with it would start to display stats.

PM me your mailing address and i'll do an estimate of shipping from my place to yours.

Hi Ed.  Haven't heard from you in a while and just checking in on the status of PGA.  I have three PGA towers that I am on the fence about purchasing depending on your release time frame for your updated PGA compatibility.  I don't want to lose the towers if you are still a ways out but at the same time I don't want to make an unnecessary purchase if you are close.  Can you give me a little direction either way?  Thanks!

Anyone here receive any word from Ed about the PGA software?  I am supposed to buy three PGA towers this weekend but one of them is missing a dongle!  I don't want to buy it if I can't play it, lol!

Ed, if you are there please check in if you have a spare moment.  Thanks.

last I heard he was giving his boss the whatfor and throwing in the towel on him.

he may be out for a bit while he gets sorted.

STPCORE

unless you can get a REALLY good deal on them, consider passing on them. as it stands we are currently looking at running PGA on a completely different machine without using any of the original hardware. (dongle included) right now, it makes no sense to buy up obsolete hardware when "fixing" the game ("breaking" the game) has already been done.

if you feel more comfotable with original hardware and using the original disk sets, then by all means go for it, but if you can stand to hack a bit, there is no need for any of the original hardware.

it comes down to how global VR setup the program to work with only their hardware. it was an attempt at monopolizing the replacement hardware market for the systems so they can "justify" selling a $20 videocard to people for $300. (no joke)

I hear what you are saying, lilshawn. That's what I am thinking as well. I'm just trying to get a ballpark estimate on when everything will be ready for download/install. If its gonna be another 3 months or more then I want to grab those towers. If its a matter of days or weeks then I would prefer to wait. Hopefully Ed can give us some clarification or estimated release time frame. Thanks!

Hi
I'm new to the forum and hoping someone can help.
I have a UK PGA tour machine with championship 2.1 CDs and dongle.

The problem I'm experiencing is that I replaced the faulty video card (Ti4200) for a Nvidia 6600 and started the install with the recovery disc but after the reboot I receive a blue windows screen.

I've searched the thread but can't seem to find the solution.

you must use the original card, or hack the software to use a different card. you can't just swap for a different card. there are no drivers in the box to use a new card.

a fix is currently in the works here:

I've used multiple TI4200 cards without a problem.  I prefer the 128mb cards versus the 64mb cards if you have a choice.

I've searched the thread but can't seem to find the solution.

u will NOT FIND YOUR FIX IN ANY OF THE DISK'S,I HAVE POSTED ON THIS OVER 100 TIME'S,u are working with winxp>e< >embedded,it mean's they picked and chose there driver's at will,win98/xp and server 2000

to add the driver's willy nilly into window's system/system32 will not work worth a ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---,as u need to repoint the main SET OF .BAT FILE'S...HERCULES AND GVR
this take's editing skill's.....

unnamed told me to expect the patch at the start of the week
that is the best i can say to that

stpcore i posted the olny bin file needed for ledbrite in your thread
if u want the flash ask,do not beat around the bush about it

Ed ur alive mate so glad to see n glad u sorted out that ---tallywhacker--- of a boss.
Nice to hear we r not to far away it seems can't wait for this to finally become reality.

With regards to the betabrite file on STPs thread I have downloaded it and was wondering where on the PGA HD do I place this?? Will this solve my problem of not getting any game data on my led topper and my PGA not seeing it in the diagnostic test or do I need an actual proper cable that lilshawn is sending me?

Thx
Spitfire

Ed, I don't need the betabrite files actually (I think that was more recently Spitfire).  I have been asking you and the rest of the community for the card reader files in a pretty direct fashion over the past several weeks without "beating around the bush" but have had no luck.  If anyone has those and can help please let me know.  My card reader isn't reading cards.

hi
sorry stpcore
i mis read it,i thought u were asking for ledbrite
i will dig out the reader file's for u
there is 3 type's used
i will need to know which 1 u have
unless u want all three ?
there is serveal part's to them
in most case's it is not the reader but rather the i/o card and or the sub aux supply that goe's south, what i do to test the reader is tie it into a xp box,in your case it may need to download the driver's :no-biggie:,then u tie it into your usb port
and u can test it,the test is simple..a white card >stiff white thin cardboard, like bristle board cut to a credit size card<,u insert and remove card to see if the opto's are working..if they are then u know u have a fubar i/o card :most common: and or the sub supply is not plugged into the i/o,and or it is dead
give me a few i will dig up what i have and up-load them

That would be outstanding, Ed.  The model I have is the XICO 7101USB (it does not have any LED lights).

When I plug it into a computer running XP I get a message that new hardware was found and that the device is installed and ready to use.  This is happening with 2 card readers and one of them is NOS.

hi
ya 7101 is the most common 1 used
it should be plugged into a usb 1 port or a >powered usb hub< best
if window's xpsp3 picked it up
bet's are it is a good reader and just need's cleanning
do the white card test i talked about
i need to chat them again at xico and get there test s/w :again:
they do not list it on there site
the file's u are after are all reg file's written in c++
they are called in with the i/o card,it is a 4 part file where
1 piece is kept in the atmel chip on the reader, then another piece is kept on the onboard flash of the reader, gobal coustom s/w,the other piece's are c++ reg file's
kept in a cab file
1 is on disk 1 the other on disk 4 >3< if u are running under rev :4:
the i/o card olny carry's the hexcsum for the reader and it dose crap out
i will do another dump of the flash for u,
the at89c2051 is atmel's replacement for there 40 pin dip
carry's the EXACT same .ins set
the bugger u want a dump of if u are going to fix/or recode these thing's is the u4a chip, label mo1002/s808722...cy7c63001apc
no 7101 dose not have light's 7102+ dose
i will attach a pdf of the reader's code set
