Name the game (if you can)
« on: May 25, 2011, 09:51:06 pm »
This one may be tough, because there is very little I remember about the specifics of the game.  It was a fighting game(similar to MK) that my wife and I used to play when we were in college - this would make it around early 1990s.  All I can remember was that we both always laughed at one of the characters, because she was in an all black outfit(which was a thong in the back and had high heels, I think) - She looked like a dominatrix and we always used to joke that this was the character's secret power - Ability to distract the opponent   It had a variant of fatality moves and was around during the era of MKII.  I think it may have been a NEO GEO game or perhaps SNK, but the memory is foggy.  I am nearly positive it is not any of the Soul Calibur games and am sure it was not any of the SF games.

If I could only remember the characters name, I could figure out the game.

Pagan from the game War Gods?  (It was made by midway and used the same CP layout and control scheme as MK)

Neither of these were it (but pagan was the closest to the look of the character) - The outfit was completely black(no pattern).   But I am impressed that anyone knew a character that came that close to it.  Its so annoying when you just can't remember the game.

2D or 3D?

that'd help narrow it down a bit. I thought Pagan by your description too

This is a long shot, and I doubt it's the game (since it didn't get a very wide release in the US):

Galaxy Fight?

Her name is "Juri" but pronounced like "Julie".
NO MORE!!

It was a 3-D type ("real peron"), not a graphics character.  Pagan came real close, but just not all "Sindel-ed"(MK).  I knew it was going to be a tough one.  Unless there was another fighter with Pagan in it where she wasn't all "vamped-out".

I guess I didn't realize that thongs were all the rage in the fighters back then, but then again there was Cammy.......

I thought it was a great game when I was a kid.
As an adult, it was one of the first games I fired up in MAME.
The nostalgia wore off after about 10 seconds and I realized that it was crap.

Googling this for you has been a real chore :p

Nah, neither Ivy or tatoo assasins is it......Sadly though, the chick from tattoo assasins was close in terms of how she looked(less vamped out than the chick from Wargods).

I definately Googled this one prior to posting......It's had to find anything with keywords like "Thong" "tall blonde" and "video game" that doesn't link to a completely different site (mainly porn), go figure..........  I'm waiting to find out that this is going to be some revision of a game like WarGods, and that's why the chick looked different.

Ya know Donk, I'd love to remember how many..... but either 3 or 6(most likely six).  We're talking 20 years ago since I played the game.  Can't remember the name of the game, the character's name or the button layout, but a tall blond dominatrix in a thong......instant memory recall.....LOL :o
