Skyline
« on: April 25, 2011, 09:57:25 pm »
I just watched Skyline on netflix.
I searched the site for a review already done by someone, and couldnt find any. If I missed it Im sorry.

First of all, IMHO, this movie sucked.

The movie kinda plunges head long into the alien invasion, which I really didnt mind, I mean if we were to get invaded by aliens, Im sure it would be very blindsided. But as I watched, I kept expecting someone to point me in the direction of what these things were, where they came from, and what they wanted.
Also at the end, why are they harvesting human brains and spinal cords? (Is this a ripoff of Predator?)
And the guy, (Jarred I think is his name), is the only human who realizes his own self after (being assimilated (?) into a creature) and rescues his wife.
Then it ended with a quick tease of a big battle between Monster Jarred and the other monsters that might have been neat, if it had not just cut off. WTF?
Dont waste your time on this one, unless you have a free download and absolutely nothing else to do.

I rented this through on demand a few weeks ago. Yeah, pretty much sucked.

The images were great, and there +could+ have a been a decent story there, but wow. No such luck.
