I have been able to do this, but I'm asking in case you have an easier solution than the one I've figured out. The idea is to have a menu that should appear as early as possible when you start your computer, in any case before the XP's booting screen and that let's you choose if you want to launch your arcade frontend or the Windows environment. Everything has to be in the same disk and partition, and only one OS installed.

Mine just boots straight to windows - I replaced the windows loading screen with the "Winners Don't Use Drugs", and the destop has nothing on it - taskbar hidden - with the desktop background as "Recycle it, don't trash it!" After it boots, it loads Mala and you would never know it's a windows machine.

As mentioned, you use windows auto login for your gaming - but if you need to access another account, hold down shift during the boot process as per this link http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/17/how-to-bypass-and-stop-automatic-logon-to-log-on-as-different-user/
