Flynn's Arcade now at Disneyland
« on: October 18, 2010, 12:09:33 am »
An awesome reproduction of Flynn's Arcade now in Disneys California Adventure theme park.  Checked it out over the weekend, looks exactly like it did in the movie.. all the decor and 80s music playing.

Also I should note, there is one exclusive arcade that can only be found there...  Space Paranoids!

You can read more about it here

Looks like a great setup.  Took a quick look at the game pics and they look like new.  Hope they can keep them in that shape.

+1.  Although personally, I'm looking for another 'in-game' video game to clone for my next project.

Went there opening day...Couldn't beat the high score on Tron but got 2nd
Also, Disneyland minted Tron Legacy tokens for the event.  Each game only costs 1 token and each token costs 25c.
It doesn't matter if you win or lose....it's how you play the videogame.

Space Apranoids, "The only coin-operated version of the game in the world is at Flynn's, Pierce said"

Add this along with MM2. This one might be impossible to get a hold/copy of the ROMS (maybe one day MAME will support it). Who knows it might be the same board as the original TRON (hacked) :)

Did they have Space Tactics? I wonder if it was *exactly* like the 80's movie...

More likely its just a PC.

I thought the fact the game uses your standard FPS control scheme would have been a dead give away. Wasn't there another thread about this? Wasn't the engine already known or did everyone decide it was an in-house development?
