Batch file rename?

Anyone know of a utility that will allow for batch file renaming?

You can also use good old Command Line RENAME with wildcards

That's what I ended up doing.  I wrote a batch file using RENAME

You can just highlight a bunch of files in Windows Explorer, right-click, click rename.  Windows will add increasing numbers in parenthesis after each file name.

Yeah, but that wouldn't have worked for my particular problem.  I was renaming files for a data reduction tool that doesn't like parenthesis in file names...

I had good results with http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Main_Intro.php.  I was able to remove all the numbers from the end of screenshots to use for my NES snaps.  It also looks like it will have several other useful renaming features.
