Price of persia sands of time movie
« on: May 10, 2010, 10:34:18 am »
just seen some previews and its look's kinda cool.

anyone know if they are going to make a series out of them.

if they do it up like lord of the rings that would be cool if they add the others to make it a trilogy type.

PS: There is also a another resident evil coming soon.

Prediction:  This will be the surprise movie of the summer, where most thought it would be lame and instead: kapow at the box office (kind of like Iron Man 2 years ago and the first PotC movie).

I've always been able to predict how good a movie is from the trailers.

Guess what?  This one looks like a win to me!  Seriously... keep a close eye on this one.  Also keep in mind that I hate EVERYTHING so when I say it might be good, it's high praise.

He didn't need a comma. Writing "two" instead of "2" would've been proper.

couple of strikes against it right off the bat:

Jake Giggleballs, only good movie he ever did was bubble boy.

Ben Kingsley in a video game movie.... (BloodRayne)

The writers have worked on some pretty crummy movies (when Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, Dusk till Dawn 2, and the 1989 Punisher Movie, are the only ones worth mentioning its not a good sign)

*IF* I hear good things, maybe I'll VOD it , dont plan on buying it.

Darko...its a cult classic, Im just not in that cult. I couldnt get into it. Never saw October Sky, Jarhead sucked out loud, I dont remember him in city slickers (wasnt he like 10?) he was terrible in Zodiac  (which was also terible), terrible in Day After Tomorrow (which was also terible) and I cant recall anything else he did of importance. Also, he interviews like a --cream-filled twinkie--. I kinda wish I saw Donnie Darko before he started sucking, I may have liked the flick a lot more.  I'll be honest, I'd rather see him then his sister in a movie.  How do you get work in hollywood with a mug like that?

Regardless of his acting ability, I think he was horribly mis-cast for this role.  I have a feeling this movie will follow the usual video game movie tradition and be really bad.

Yeah, I think he was Billy Crystal's kid, had about 2 minutes of screen time.  Still a good movie though!

Ok, thats kinda like saying Spiderman and Iron Man were good movies just because Stan Lee was in them.

Not at all, Im not saying he made City Slickers a good movie, Im saying City Slickers is a good movie, and he is in it.

You said he hasnt been in any good movies.

If you want to change the statement to, Jake has never starred in any good movies, then Ill drop if from my list of his good movies.

Nah, if youre gonna argue semantics, I'll just ignore you, its much easier. =)

To be fair, Stan Lee's Iron Man cameo was his best one.

Iron Man 2 was funnier but in the same vein. They called him Hugh Heffner in the first one right? They called him Larry King in IM2 Did they call him anything in Hulk? I remember he was a security guard with Ferregno and I cant recall what he did in Spiderman. I think its hilarious they keep tuckin him in all the Marvel flicks.

Off the top of my head,
He was a hot dog vendor in Xmen, it was at the Fair in Spiderman, he was in spiderman 2 but I dont remember what, in the Hulk he was the secuirty guard, in Xmen3 he was on the water hose, in the OTHER hulk movie he was in the background drinking or something, He also did voice over work in Marvel Ultimate Allience 2 as a senator.

Also, for the record, Garry Shandling is awesome. I was totally flashing back to the Garry Shandling show and laughing in the theater.

It's like they couldn't possibly have found an actual Persian actor to play the part.   ::)

You would think the moment they gave him color contacts to hide his BLUE EYES they'd have thought, "Hmm, is this the right guy to play the Prince of PERSIA?"

Malenko:  October Sky - See it then come back and tell me he sucks.  Naturally, if you're not into the biography style dramas, don't bother looking at it but man, what an awesome movie it is.

yeah after I noticed who was the prince I thought they definatly should have picked someone else.

there's tons out there that would fit the role better and why they went with him is beyond me he is not a fighter or action type actor but instead just a gay cowboy  :puke

They used some sort of digital "auto smoothing" on all her face close-ups, as if she's ugly, or has horribly bad skin or something and they just had to hide it. It was totally noticeable and distracting through the entire movie.

The game was pretty cool. The first movie one sheet I saw with Jake was a gag inducing moment. I saw the preview, and I'm not sure what to make of the movie. The game story was pretty damn cool, and the preview looked...well...not sucky. This is definitely the wildcard movie of the summer.

I've always been able to predict how good a movie is from the trailers.

Guess what?  This one looks like a win to me!  Seriously... keep a close eye on this one.  Also keep in mind that I hate EVERYTHING so when I say it might be good, it's high praise.

You just said there was no such thing as a bad zombie movie... 90% of them are bad.
Your cred is low.  ;D

No 90% of them aren't nearly as good as the other 10%, but it's like that with any genre of film.  The thing is, the zombie genre is such a great concept that even the "bad" ones are completely watchable and quite enjoyable, only for totally unintended reasons.  Case in point, I just watched the "terrible" Undead or Alive the other night.  Full of cheezy win!!!  The fact that I hate nearly every film ever released just shows how special the zombie genre is, or horror in general.  There's no such thing as a bad horror film because you generally have the satisfaction of everyone beign dead by the end of it.

It's like if everyone died at the end of a larry the cable guy movie... it would be totally worth setting through that garbage just to see the end.  :D

Btw about the comments about using a persian actor..... play the frikkin game, the prince is persian in name only.... he's blue-eyed and speaks with a  british accent in the first pop game.  They gradually make him "more persian" as people complain, but originally, he wasn't persian at all.  I actually don't have a clue why they are making him wear contacts seeing as how the prince has had blue eyes off and on for years.

Regardless of whether or not he looks the part, I don't see him pulling off an action role.  I thought the same thing about Matt Damon and was proved wrong with the Bourne series, so I could be wrong about this too, but I have a feeling this movie is going to be awful.
