The arcade version shows the starfield bright and colorful, and its very easy to see the shots that i fire..... at home not so much

I'm running Mame

colors for all other games seem ok?

My glass is tinted 35% but i dont think it mutes the colors so much on other games...

Playing Galaga the starfield doesnt seem very bright, nor does seeing the shots fired show up very clearly.
any suggestions on how to fix this? Is it the specific rom i'm using? perhaps another version would show colors better? maybe i need to tweak my monitor or mame settings?

I'm looking for help and any suggestions

Mine are nice and bright.

What resolution are you running the game at?  I know if I stretch games to 640x480 on my WG D9800, mame muddies them up pretty good.

Its a known issue. The colors are not perfect. The game is completly playable. You would have a message regarding the imperfection if you do not have a custom compiled mame to remove the nag screens. Perhaps that explains the silence.

Anyways, now you know. There is no amount of tweaking your monitor that will fix the colors.

I believe it is either 800x600 or 1024x768
What rom version are you using? and at what resolution?
