ChocolateApple is right: Kinda. I did indeed shoot him a PM, but I never heard back with a, "Sure thing man, thanks!" so I wasn't sure if he was doing this or not. But now that he broke the news, I'm glad he is.
For those interested: Here's a history of how it went. (By the way thanks Generic Eric for looking out, I appreciate it man! But it's cool, read below)
During my original artwork phase in 2009, Scott over at GameonGrafix.com (MameMarqees.com at the time) was gracious enough to supply me with his original 2 player X-men Hi-Res files (the ones he sells at his store). He did not have to do this but he was happy that I was working on a 6-player version. He is the man! And I am forever grateful and his hi-res graphics were VERY useful.
I stated the intent to give the graphics over to Scott originally in the second page of this forum topic. I wrote, "Once this is done I plan to let Scott at Mamemarquees.com have the final graphic. Then he can post it in his store for fellow 6-player X-men owners out there." At that point Scott and I had already reached an agreement.
Everyone who contributed afterwards knew this was my goal as well and contributed willingly towards that cause. After all, it was a community effort.
I eventually got rid of the X-men 6 player arcade machine beast, but still had 90% of the artwork from my project. Then I saw that ChocolateApple was resurrecting the project. I wanted to see it to completion, so that everyone who has these machines out there can have repro artwork. It was for the greater good. So, when he asked me, I obliged and gave him all of my files.
I also sent him this PM:
"You may want to contact Scott Prior over at GameOnGrafix.com. Originally, I worked out a deal with him that he would print out the graphics for me (at no cost to me) if I completed the restoration of the artwork and allowed him to use it in his store for others to buy.
However, now that I no longer have my machine, the torch has been passed onto you. This was a long time ago, so his position may change. But it's worth a shot to ask him. Tell him I give my blessing regarding the supplied graphics and such. I'm sure he would LOVE to have this in his store since no one else in the WORLD has it.
Good Luck!"
Again, I never heard back from ChocolateApple. But now I see he took my advice (Good for you, I'm glad that the project lives on!)
All in all, my position is this: I want everyone in the community to have access to the 6-player X-men artwork for their future restorations. Period. I think the final artwork will be in good hands with Scott at GameonGrafix.com. He does great printing work.
