If it's a touch monitor, there will be another cord aside from the VGA. Is there a USB/serial port on the monitor itself? If so, you'll have to make use of that (either USB cable or 9-pin serial to 9-pin serial cable). If there are no ports on the monitor anywhere, it is either not a touch monitor or is missing the touch interface.
At this point, pics would be the fastest way to help. One of the front, one of the back, one of the bottom (even though it's relatively thin), and one of each side, as well as one of the model number. From there, we shoudl be able to hook you up.
