Very awesome.  Can we assume her legs will be more visible on the token?  I had to change my monitor settings to even find them.

Everything will be more clearly visible. The detail resolved on the coin is far greater than what the screen resolves. You definitely should not judge visibility from the file at it's attached size.

That said... you won't see any further down the legs.. ie to the feet.

Looks great! Very tastefully done, although a little more size wouldn't hurt. I'd like to get some of these! My wife was reluctant to get the 200 tokens I have now, but with the size of my cab collection on the rise, I think I can justify it! ;D

Absolutely great designs by everyone.  I must have missed it somewhere, but how/when/how much to get a hold of some of these?

I doubt it was meant as a criticism. It's a good point though. In fact, when I started considering tokens at the beginning of this year my first thought was "I should probably wait for the 2008 tokens because they're probably coming out any time now". I think with it being an end of the year project, it makes more sense to date it for the following year. So while labeling them 2008 wouldn't prevent me from buying them, I would rather see them labeled 2009.

That would cause there to be no 2008 tokens.  Remember that they go back a few years.  No one wants a gap!   :)

Too true. I have a single token from each year so far mounted on my bezel with room for plenty more... I'd quickly get sick of explaining to people why there is a year missing.

Naw, I am here.  My job has me working late every night and I am exhausted.  I catch up on the weekends.

We will do these as 2009 tokens obviously.  Sorry to drag it out after I specifically promised I wouldn't.

Maybe we could do TWO of these designs... label one as 2008 and one as 2009... since most of the issue tends to be with artwork and we have several great ready to go designs in hand here.  That would give you a major jump on 2009 as well.  It's not like the designs themselves have any direct connection to the year we mint them.

I know it would probably be a headache but I think it will suck if a year is skipped in making these.

I realize that some people would be upset by that (not me), and I can understand it, but 2009 is almost half over. Since I imagine Santoro's not exactly getting rich off of this endeavor, wouldn't doing these as 2008 tokens basically result in all subsequent years being similarly late as well due to the amount of time it takes to break even on a run?

I know it would probably be a headache but I think it will suck if a year is skipped in making these.

If it were just the headache, I'd do two runs anyway.

In the peak economic times we had a hard time getting enough demand for a full run of 10,000.  We would never get demand today for 20,000 tokens at $50 for 200.  That is pricing from 2 years ago, I will bet brass prices are way up, I may not be able to offer that pricing this year.

We can call these what we want - 2008/9, or we can omit the date completely... I am open to suggestions.

I wouldn't call that integral. Replace "2008" with another "BYOAC" and your front and back designs would look just as good, IMO.

FYI, there is an article in the newest Gameroom Magazine stating that the big amusement centers are switching to plated zinc coins to cut cost. Is this an option to keep cost down at your coin maker? The article says existing standard brass coin presses can still be used.
