There have few lines connected between the cam(cmos) and the board, it is very easy to see which one be broken, modify it by yourself.

Have someone post the image of cam here before!

I know, but I do not know what is really broken, I do not know if it is really the cam what is broke.

If I have to pay only for the Sending to Asia.... then I will ask to change it. THANKS FOR THE INFO RYOLAZAROVICH.
The thing that it could be Very expensive is to pay Sending+Receiving.

Is my new gun broken??

I finally got my 2nd gun and It won't track or register button presses. I am using smog's latest drivers (tried previous one too), windows xp sp1. My old gun works great, it tracks the cursor, all the buttons register in the guncon2 control panel and it works in mame. When I plugged my new gun in, it was recognized and the drivers installed just fine. The switch is set to "P". Hardware calibration went fine. However, in windows it wont track the cursor and the button presses won't register. Won't work in mame either obviously.

I tried switching the guns on my usb hub and the old gun works under the new gun's settings but the new gun won't work under the old gun settings. I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and still no luck. I even tried the previous version of smog's driver. Should I try the EMS drivers that came with the gun or does it sound like I should return this gun? It seems to me that I have installed it correctly and switching them on the usb hub with no luck indicates that it is not functioning correctly. I also tried uninstalling both guns and the driver and starting fresh and only installing the new gun but it didnt help. Any suggestions? Should I return it?

I guess the best you can do is try it in a ps2 or xbox before returning it.

Try not using the USB hub. People have had problems with them in other things besides light guns. I know my trackball does not work with a hub even though at one time it did.

Hubs are sketchy. That is what I would suggest though.

tried it on my xbox and damnit it works.

I don't know what i'm doing wrong. Is there some vital setup step that I am missing? I already have one gun setup properly. All I had to do for the new gun was to plug it in, let the drivers install for it when it is recognized as a guncon2 device, hardware calibrate, then set it up in guncon2 control panel right?
I'll try it plugged straight into the pc and also into another usb hub.

I got both guns working YAY!

I uninstalled and deleted all traces of the guncon2 driver, found some wingun leftovers from a previous uninstall and deleted those as well and then I reinstalled the latest guncon2 drivers (thanks smog) and installed both guns from scratch and all is well. Thanks to those who responded.

With 2 lcd topguns in use am I allowed 4 inputs for each gun or 4 inputs shared between both guns? Just because in the guncon2 control panel it assigns button1 and button2 for the first gun and button3 and button4 for the second gun and its something I cannot change.

Check the ActLabs Compatibility button. If it pressed, you can't change the configuration of the first and second button of your gun.

BTW, the buttons of the guns are independent. The first gun is a mouse and the second gun is another mouse. So 4 buttons for each one.

Thanks Cananas, I did have the Actlab Compatibility button on.
I can shoot offscreen to reload in Area51 but it won't work in Lethal Enforcer 1 & 2
I have tried assigning the reload function to button2 and that works in Area51 also but again not in Lethal Enforcer 1 & 2

Am I the only one having this problem?

Dang, Dang, Dang....

Everything was working great, but now I'm having problems.
If I use the recoil the gun dies after one shot. It fires, and recoils once, then nothing. I bought a new powered USB hub, but it didn't help. I even pulled it into my Xbox and I get the same thing. The gun works fine if I don't use recoil.

Is this a problem with the gun? Drivers? USB problem?

Any suggestions would be great!

I had the same problem after a few months. I am using mame32 .101 and the ems driver (latest). The recoil and gun have been working excellent up until the gun died. I realized it was the recoil that was killing it, so I disabled the recoil and super glued the top so it couldnt be pulled back during gameplay (because doing that will kill the gun too). I am going to investing in 2 more after I get my cab complete (still need coin door and tweaking of software).

Cliffracer is probably the way to go. I think you should probably do it quick if you are going to get these. I figure that he didn't order a ton. And the fact that the BYOAC community know someone in the states has some, I figure they will go fast. He will probably get more, but containers take at least 4 weeks to get over here.

I just ordered 1 gun and was wondering what driver I should use. the smog's gunconpc or acorns wingun. I have a xp pt 3.4. I also would like it to reload of screen. thanks alot. just want to know which one works best. Oh also how does everybody like the gun? I don't think anyone got these things to work properly in mame.

Someone needs to make a setup instructions for mame for these guns.
I had these guns for over a month, and I still cannot get them working, I can usually get player 1 to work erratically, but not player2. The lack of instructions is ridiculous.

The only time I got them both to work was on Xbox house of the dead.

The most common problem people is having is the mess left from EMS/wingun drivers installation/disinstallation.

If I knew how to get rid of them I would have told you believe me ... try to use the "system configuration backup" (I think this is the right translatio in english) or try to delete the latest driver / . inf files installed ...

I had the same problem when I first got mine. I was about to return it when I figured I'd take it apart and see if I could fix it. The slide removes pretty easily, onece it's off try and fire the gun. Mine had a few plastic burs on the teeth inside the slide. Once I cleaned it up a little it worked well again. Now I have logged at least 20 hours of play time (while in rapid-fire mode) and it hasn't missed a beat since.

With your system, you can install de lastest Smog drivers (v9b6). There are many bug fixed (also there are others not).

I installed the drivers and then plug the gun. Windows detected like guncon2 and installed the Smog drivers.

It could be that windows recognizes the gun like guncon2 but don't install the smog drivers. If this is your case, you must go into de control panel->system, locate the guncon2 device and update the drivers, pathing the smog drivers directory.

To use PC hod2 with two guns, you need the troubleshooter. Read the program instructions for more details.

Don't discourage.

i cant believe i need smogs but cant get it working . i know that if one of you guys were in my room you could get it working no sweat. i think its my lack of computer knowledge. i need step by step intructions that a 5 year old would understand. ive only had my pc a few months. im so used to console gaming put in a disk and thats you sorted. surly it should just work and show my 2 guns the other drivers worked no problem but were useless for 2 player

If I buy a PS1 game (say, Point Blank 3) and run it with PS1 emulator on Windows XP,
can I use this light gun?

Edit. Let me add why I couldn't figure this out. According to the manufacturer, Point Blank 3 is a PS1 game. Since this LCD Topgun is Guncon2 compatible, if I play Point Blank 3 on an actual PS2 machine, I cannot use this gun. So to use this gun for Point Blank 3, one needs PS1 emulator on PC.
