My fall was busy with Band, Soccer, Football, Dance and now Basketball so I've not made much progress. I've been mainly working on the software when I can. The most recent milestone was to get the tinted glass installed. The Bears game absolutely stunk today so I worked on that while I paid half attention to the game.
I ordered my glass from OneDayGlass.com and could not be happier. Well I guess I would have been happier if the shipping were free but I digress.
Shape: Square/Rectangle
Glass Type: Tempered
Glass Thickness: 3/16"
Glass Tint: Solar Gray (Light Gray)
Edgework (Step 1): Seamed Edge
Option: No Tong Marks
It came boxed very well.
My special rubberized gloves. These worked very well for installing the glass without leaving fingerprints.
It is hard to get a good picture but suffice it to say it looks great in person. I went with the Solar Gray 31 because I was afraid of having too much tint. It is a touch lighter than I wanted but it looks fantastic. It is dark enough to give an "arcade" feel but light enough that the monitor didn't even need adjusting.
I've got GroovyMame configured and am using HeadKaze's CPwizard to drive the 2nd monitor. The joystick I'm testing with his a piece of crap so I'm not worried (too much) about slowing down because the cabinet is technically "working".
