FS: VGA Breakout Cables (WY - Ships)
« on: October 05, 2011, 07:33:00 pm »
For sale: VGA Breakout Cables. Hook your computer up to your arcade monitor with just one cable and no sweat off your back! These work with Wells Gardner and Vision Pro monitors that I know of, possibly more (check before buying). For use with ArcadeVGAs and Soft15khz. Handmade with love!

$12.75 shipped in the USA. $13.50 shipped to Canada. Check with me for international shipping rates (though you might be better off getting them from Ultimarc if you're in Europe).

Current Inventory: 0

Here's what they look like (yours may be white, black, or grey, depending on what VGA cables I have available):

This is the type of header that these cables work with:

And come standard with a 10 pin connector for Wells Gardner signal headers:

If your monitor uses the same type of signal header, but a different number of pins, I can make a breakout cable that will work with your monitor.

Any chance you would be able to splice one of these that would fit the wei-ya 5 pin video inputs? : O

If you could link me a manual of the monitor or provide a part number for the connector, I should be able to make a breakout harness for it.

Jim, that is clearly not the case here. These SuperStrataTM Arcade Breakout Cables are engineered, built to exacting specs, and tested right here in the Good Ol' USofA. They also have a patented coating applied to all mating parts that prevents any wear on critical components. We strive to offer the best in breakout technology. ;D

*All of the above is not to be taken seriously.

Do you have any more breakout cables? Will they work with a Nanao MS8-26SU Monitor?

-Thanks

I still have 2. But I don't think they'll work with your monitor (the schematic I found doesn't tell me the style or pitch of that header). The only Nanao schematic I could find shows a 6 pin signal header, the connectors on these breakout cables are for 9/10 pin (depending on if you count the gap) headers. If you could show me a pic of your signal header on your monitor I could give you a definite yes/no on whether I could make one that would work for you based on the parts I have available.

What about this post:

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=63147.0;attach=67056;image

Does that help? If not, I will try to get a photo of mine later today when I get home from work.

That's 8 pins, should be able to make one up for you if you can get me the pinout.

OK, mine is exactly 100% the same as in that photo. White, Space, Blue, Space, Black, Space Space, Red.

Would I plug your cable into that 8 pin header and unplug the one that is in there now? If so, that will be pretty hard to do without touching that deadly red cable. I would need to discharge the monitor fully and then have some way of verifying it is discharged before I would risk that. Any ideas?

The header with the connector and those color of wires coming off of it in the pic isn't the signal header. Do you have a harness, coming from the cabinet harness, connected to one of these headers? If so, the red, the green, or the blue arrow?

FYI, none of those are the signal input.  Green is the connection for the yoke, red/yellow is the 24k/15k switch connectors, and the cyan arrow is probably power and/or degauss (certainly not video signal).

The signal connector is almost surely the small 5/6 pin (can't quite tell) connector over by the little stand-up board at the lower left.  It's probably a JST EH series; that's common in Japan for this purpose.

Thanks for clearing that up MonMotha! Never seen one of these monitors before. Overlooked that little header. I'm willing to bet it's 6 pin as well, as the schematic I looked at shows the signal input to be 6 pins.

That being said, I don't have any JST parts to make a breakout cable.

OK after checking, there is a smaller connector on one of the boards that has the same color cables connected. It then goes about a foot or so and has a molex like connector (but with 5 cables). That then connects to another molex like connector and goes back all the way to the jamma harness wiring.

Could that be my signal's that I'd need to wire to the vga cable?

OK, here is a pic. I think it's pretty clear that it goes red green blue ground and then H something (you probably know)

That's about the best pic I am going to be able to get. That cable is near impossible to get to and since I still have to learn how to discharge the monitor, I just won't get any closer. Do you think that's enough for you to make a cable?

-Thanks

I bought a JPac, but I have a bad scrolling issue with the video and a ghosted looking image. Would this possibly work better? I have a Wells-whatever monitor and my pinout looks like what you've got setup. Thanks!

I would recommend adjusting your monitor and resolutions to try to get the image better. Also, what pins on the monitor header have wires going to them?
