At long last, the yoke controllers are done and shipping!!

This is the first controller to roll off the assembly line and it's going to our very own Havok who I'm sure will be happy to say a few words about it as soon as he takes delivery. :-)

Holy crap! that is great work! I vaguely recall you working on this. The arcade world is so much the better for your efforts. And for such a specialised piece, the price is great

edit: and by the time you are selling the SW cockpit cabs, i'll be rich enough to afford it, and the crazy freight to Australia (",)

Quick question...how are you shipping the yokes?
I sent you a PM as I'm up in Canada and currently away for the Christmas break.
If the yoke was shipped via courier I may need to make arrangements for later delivery.

Everything is shipping via UPS, even orders outside of the United States.

Let me know if this presents any sort of issue for you.

Yep, I think it will be an issue if the yoke has shipped already.

UPS has historically added $35-175 to your bill for brokerage fees. I can't think of one collector in Canada who ~~who~~ agrees to use UPS.

That is because there are some addresses in Canada that need a helicopter or a dog and sled team to get to.

Hey ark_ader,

Edmonton isn't that far north - take off eh!

However, I do agree that shipping to Canada does run the risk of hefty brokerage fees, and that USPS is quick, cheap and reliable;
it's just not always an available (or convenient) option for vendors.

Now, off to feed the dogsled team...

Congratulations, Dave. That is a sweet sweet piece of hardware, especially with the USB adapter. After I get through some other projects, I'll see if I can find a way to mount this temporarily to the front of my panel, like a PC steering wheel.

Hey Katana Man,

You could also wire something up using the gameport.
I realize that new computers don't include a game port but my old-style SoundBlaster card has one
and if you have a gameport on your MAME machine, the method of connecting the SWY is detailed in
Saint's book (on pages 238-241) and also via a link to a tutorial here: http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade_jude.shtml

Havok... being you got the very first one off the line... and since it was "done and shipping" on the 28th (the 27th was a Sunday)... and being that was what...20 days ago... at least give us a heads up as to the quality... take a couple pix... stop holding out...
