Mame and Aim-Trak Help
« on: December 14, 2009, 08:28:41 pm »
I'm running Mame 0.135 and can't seem to get Aim-Trak setup correctly.  I can get the trigger and aux contacts to register in games, but moving the gun does not move the cross hairs.  Aim-Trak works fine in windows as far as moving the mouse.  What settings in MAME do I need.  I've tried operation wolf, operation thunderbolt and duck hunt and get the same issue.  I can fire, but my attached mouse is the only thing (besides keyboard) that moves the crosshairs.  I've tried resetting preferences and numerous combination in the controller mapping window of mame.  I rest mame to default, enabled mouse and checked the  multiple mouse button.    What am I missing?  I have the ID of the AimTrak set to #2 although I also tried ID#1 with the same results.  Any help is most appreciated.

In the mame.ini you need to set Lightgun = 1

I'm not 100% sure but If you have a mouse connected and the lightgun is also seen as a mouse, then that means you are running a multi-mouse system; thus you may also need to enable "multimouse".  I'm at work, can't verify the wording but it's something like that, give it a try.

Friends: please correct me if I'm wrong...

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Yeah, need multimouse on if you don't already.

I'm having the exact same problem and I have multimouse turned on. What should my aimtrak configuration look like? What should the trigger and P1 bet set to? I'm testing it on Police Trainer right now, so if I change the controls on the game, what do I want to make the settings to? I'm totally lost here.  I had it working when I tested the aimtrak on my pc, but once I connected it to my arcade it doesn't work.
