Laminate supplier?
« on: July 21, 2003, 06:55:52 am »
Well went to order my laminate this morning and got a nasty shock. The main type of laminate in the UK comes from Formica Ltd.  I spoke to them last week and they gave me contact details of a reseller in my area (London UK).

Phoned them up today and asked them about ordering two sheets (10x4ft), one in black and one in blue. All was going well until they told me the price; they wanted

I'm not sure how the conversion factor works out between UK/US but here across the pond 4'x8' sheets generally go for about $40.  Yes, it is expensive and a lot of people have found painting to be a good, cheaper alternative (MDF takes paint very nicely).

Pixel, this is a reply from an '03 thread.  GSX hasn't been around forever  ???.  Now all we have is you, Kinevel (sp) and Markrvp to watch :P
Next I'll be on fries, and that's when the big money starts rolling in.

'03 !?!!?!?  :-[ How embarrassing!

That'll teach me.

But I do remember 2003 like it was yesterday. I had just started my project thread, and was a couple of weeks from cutting wood. Just as embarrassing. :-[

Wow... memories... I remember GSXR too.

Well there HAS to be a better price than that. That's crazy expensive. Try looking for a brand called Wilsonart.
