Restaurant with Games
« on: November 18, 2009, 12:34:14 pm »
Well it's been a long time again and after too much stress and hassle, my little venture is now open. Some of you guys may remember this was mooted a while ago.

In any case, we settled on a three-pronged approach. Restaurant, Bistro and Lounge, the lounge being my games room I guess... Some pics for those that may be interested.

Cheers

Adrian

My iphone pics are terrible, and am waiting on the final pics we had done - those few were sent by email.

I should have some nice shots of the games in a few days though. Currently we have Track n Field, Ms Pac, Galaga, Joust cocktail, Space Invaders and Arkanoid in there. We have Star Wars, Tapper, R-Type, Defender cocktail, Donkey Kong, Elevator Action, Robotron and Galaxian cocktail either in storage or on the way.

We do have a website but it's not live yet due to ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- service on the Isle of Man. You pay your money, you get erm... well.

Needs more than luck!!! (the weather could do us a favour!)

Great looking business!

How long have you been open?  Are things going well so far?

We've been open about 6 weeks, hitting forecasts so can't complain. Well. I could. No, it is going well. Just need leaf switches for track n field - the staff are addicted, never mind customers. It gets a lot of abuse....

Looks like a really classy place. Good luck, and I hope business stays steady.

Have you marketed it as a place with games or is it kind of a "come in for a drink, see the games and get hooked" kind of strategy?

The TT is still bonkers. They have no fear and well everyone even seasoned bikers (I'm not) gasp at the speed they do. It's MAD

That's usually the case with good love and sex.

I love the restaurant. Very classy looking. But let's have some better pics of those arcade cabinets, you tease.

Are all the cabs tabletops? Or do you have a couple of standups somewhere?

I just noticed the Pac Man theme in the floor there.  Very nice!  Subtle, while still letting you know you're in a game room.

I'm not liking the predominantly white theme for a lounge/game room. White with dark wood contrast works in the other areas, but there... seems too bright and too "just painted apartment" looking. Will the lighting be dimmed, or colored?

Yes, we dim the lights and I don't like the white floor. We only did it cos the ceiling is so low, it wouldve felt really claustrphobic.

I know this post is gonna be meesed up even before I hit send but I can't see what I am typing - is it something to do with Windows 7?

No idea. I didn't think the white was how Ray said, I just thought you were going for that 'modern' look. Chicks, in cities at least, generally like that.
