first of all...ALL CAPS SUCKS!!!

second...is it the connector on the circuit board that is broken, or just the cable?  you should be able to acquire a replacement 9pin serial cable pretty cheap.

wow.  um..i'm not sure i fully understand that statement...i'm guessing english isn't your first language.

so the connector on the PCB is broken?  have you tried contacting X-Gaming?  it is my understanding that x-arcade units have a lifetime warranty, so i would start with them.

and Please stop typing in ALL CAPS..it is very annoying to read through...it is generally considered as yelling.

If it is the connector on the cable maybe this info will help.   It does not give colors but using a VOM the wires can be traced.

This info came from a thread about making a serial cable for x arcade on this forum.

wow, your x-arcade is completely different than mine.  what is that cable in the second picture?  i dont have one of those.

my x-arcade has a db9 port mounted directly on the circuit board, and then just uses a standard 9pin serial cable.

I've had mine for years since they first came out and I was thinking the same thing..... opened it up and sure enough, pcb mounted DB9 and it just uses a basic serial cable from there.

And I still don't quite understand what info he needs. The wires look all there, can't tell what's really "broken". If it's just a DB9 housing of some sorts that's broken, swap it one wire at a time to the new one.

Is that the same cable in pictures #1 and #2 ?
Does that cable then plug into the little pcb inside the X-Arcade ?

yes is the same cable - the first picture goes to outside of the xarcade and the second image goes internal conected to the 2 sockets whites.
the serial cable is conected to the db9 picture 1 ...

So why not take your NEW DB9 and set it side by side with the old one and transfer one wire over at a time ?

That first pic isn't clear enough to see what is "broken", but all the wires seem to be where they should be.

OK, now this is just down right frustrating......but am starting to understand what is BROKEN, sort of. (circled in green)

What I DON'T understand is what information is needed......

USE THE OLD WIRES FROM YOUR CONNECTOR AS YOUR EXAMPLE

I think he is saying he put that new Db9 end on and it's not working so he wants someone to verify what pins on the Molex type connector go to which pins in the Db9 connector via a continuity check since the original Db9 was encased and colors are impossible to determine.

You make fun of my suggestion for buying one...but you have wasted how many weeks now? How much is your time worth waiting? More than $5.99?

I don't mean to be an ass...im a pretty mellow easy going guy...but cmon...$5.99 plus shipping or wasting weeks waiting for an answer?  It's called opportunity cost.  In my books, probably because I have a family etc, my time is worth a lot more per hour than a $6 part.

However, if just want the challenge of doing it yourself fine, I understand:

I had to make one of these up, but I remembered there is a problem with the grounding, so make sure you have a keyboard plugged into the X Arcade.

thx for the advise,

before failure, my x-arcade was only connected to USB port, no connection into PS2, and worked fine.

Hi there, i know this post has been dead for too long but I just wanted to start where you left.
Did this work? I have an x-arcade without any cables. The cable from pcb to db9 is also broken so I just wanted to know if it is possible to take out from the pcb connector the USB and the ps2 without needing the serial port in the middle. Thanks a lot! I have been trying to copy with a tester the cable between the pcb connector and the USB (from another x-arcade) but I haven't succeeded.
Thanks in advance
