WTB: ACT Labs dual lightguns US/AZ/Phoenix
« on: September 24, 2009, 12:17:05 pm »
Quite frankly, I can't afford $200 for  the set (which is what ACT Labs charges for their set).  I can probably swing $100 for a set (if I keep it secret from the wife).  If anyone has a complete dual lightgun set for pc (with all necessary cables, etc.) they would be wililng to part with for that price, please let me know.

Thanks,

Todd.

These aren't ActLabs, but they ARE in your price range

Then there is, of course, the new AimTrak:

I appreciate the feedback!

I will admit to being a complete noob when it comes to the lightguns so if my comments don't make sense, I apologize.  (1) I have an arcade monitor in my cabinet and am unsure whether LCD lightguns will work (and I don't know how accurate they are): (2) recognizing my own limitations (I am in no way gifted electronically)  would not be able to mod anything in order to use the Ultimarc set (so that is out until they have a complete gun).

That being said, I have read reviews of the ACT Labs lightgun and it seems to fit the bill.  If I am wrong the the LCD lightguns, I would appreciate it if someone let me know whether they are compatible with an arcade monitor.

Act labs are for PC monitors, or TV's. There are separate types of guns for each type of monitor too. (IE, you have to buy PC guns if you have a PC monitor).

I think your best bet is to hold on and monitor the Ultimarc setup.

I have a brand new set (version 2) - only opened the box to test them out. For me to break even I'd have to sell them for $130 and figure $15 for shipping.

I appreciate the offer.  Unfortunately, given the job situation, $100 is all I am "reasonably nervous" I can afford at the moment.   Thanks for the quick feedback though.
