I don't like this at all.  Won't condensation will ruin the internal electronics over time?

Condensation?  How would you get condensation when the refrigeration coils are inside the cabinet.  I would be worried about cooking the PC!

I wonder if registered GameEx users get a discount?

I think it's awesome how there's no place to set your beer. And the cabinet is only about 18" wide with a hefty 24" monitor, just asking to be knocked over during a drunken game of Street Fighter 2...

I imagine the keg is in the bottom, so as long as it is near full it should help prevent any tipping over.

As per it being stupid, yeah. But you have to admit it saves space, a keginator and a MAME cab all in one space. They should add a condom dispenser to it too, and maybe put a urinal on the side... Oh don't forget to include a breath tester/key dispenser to see if one is too drunk to drive home or if they have to get a condom and sleep with the ugly chick at the party just to have a place to crash....

yeah, i would go with one of the other vendors that sell these kegorator arcades, or build and sell your own versions and $$make a killing$$.  aside from how ugly they are, these drinkngame arkegs are very poorly made, i wouldn't buy from this company.  also, something i never understood, how are they legally selling a cab with these mame games on it?  is it legal?

Hmm, looking at your profile pic... is this your business?   8)

It looks a little like retro space to me. It's getting one hell of a bashing here! Each to their own... if you want an arcade machine with a beer dispenser, it's one of your options.

I have a better idea that could save you 4 grand.
step 1. Get a keg
step 2. Set it next to your cab.
step 3. Have fun.

Beer is good.
Arcade games are good.
Drinking beer while playing arcade games is good.
Drinking beer while working on arcade games is often necessary in order to maintain sanity.

When I bought my big blue Capcom cab, I had intended to use it for a MAME machine that would be called "Sheer Genius" and it was to look like a big pint of Guiness (the oversize marquee would be the bishop's collar and the sideart would consist of a sweating sleeve filled with Guiness). I fully intended to put a kegerator inside, complete with P1 and P2 taps, and had assembled the necessary artwork and sourced printing from a shop that prints backlit and adhesive for bars. It was going to be really cool.

Then I realized that the mix was probably not the best idea. It wouldn't take much of a mishap to destroy the cabinet, rendering the whole thing useless. The cooling/heat issues inside the cab were also a concern.

It was neat idea, but it was probably the right call to set it aside.

If you can afford to drop $4k on something like this, then you can afford a proper full bar, and likely have a pretty sizable game room as well. It's a dumb idea.

Since it seems to be targetting alcoholics, a better idea would be a sofa or bed with built in keg.

I'd guess that a lot of that cost is for the 69 licensed games, as is the problem for most commercial arcade products. I'm pretty sure everyone here could build their own kegger arcade for less than 4k. That game list isn't terrible, by the way. :P

NO DRINK POLICY!?!?!

thats right, it's a arcade game not a bar, one slip up and i got pop, or worse BEER, ever seen dry beer? ever smelled it? nasty stuff pooring into the machine.. no plexi wont stop all of it, some of it WILL get in between the plexi and the CP..

just eliminate the possibility of it from ever happening.. it's not to much to ask for someone to put their drink on a table 3 feet away.

have similar policy around my computers.

my mom's boyfriend owned a bar when i was growing up, and i am now a veteran drunk so i know the smell and hassle of spilled beer all too well myself.

my current mame cab has a slanted control panel so theres nowhere for someone to set a drink.  i do have a table within arms reach though.  i think thats good enough, most people arent going to play and drink at the same time.  theres usually a chance at the beginning or end of a level to turn around and grab a big chug of beer.

however, if i had multiple cabs or ones where someone could potentially set a drink, i would definitely be asking people to set them on a nearby table instead.

its the same way with my pool table.  if you want a drink, you can go to the bar a few feet away and get a drink.  the only person allowed to set a drink anywhere on the table or its rails is me.

I have had no problem with mine, I converted my garage into a little bar and had no problems at all.  And all of my friends are big drinkers, I guess that I just trust my friends.  But acciedents do happen

i dont like drinks near my cabinet either.  when i first set it up, i installed flip down cup holders on the sides, but i really dont ever use them for anything, and i think they look crappy, so i'm going to remove them.  I don't drink anything alcoholic....my wife will ocasionaly, but never in the house.  So i dont have to worry about stupid drunk people wrecking my cabinet, but still a spilled can of Moutain Dew or something could really ruin my day.

so no drinks on the cabinet!!!

oh ya i dont blame ya either brad pop especially dark pop and beer can really wreck a pool tables surface and it's no fun ot look nor play on one with stains usually they kinda "harden" up the felt where the stain is.. i've never changed one but i've heard it's a real pain too.

the only exception to my no drink rule would be i would sometime down the road like to have a pacman style cocktail.. that i would actually encourage the use of for eating or drinking.. but then on the other hand it'll have a single plate of glass covering the entire surface so little different.

I only see this really working well with a cockpit design.  Real drinking and driving is a huge no-no...but in the safety of your own home having a keg tap on the outside of the cockpit behind where you sit would work...you wouldn't have to concern yourself with condensation etc as there are no electronics in that section of the cockpit.

But really where does it end? Next, do we build a trucker style cockpit cab that you can actually sleep in?  :laugh2:

Avoid the stale beer smell by drinking extra dry martinis! It's a superior drink, regardless.

I don't mind people eating and drinking at my arcade cabinet. It happens to be in my kitchen, anyway, and the kitchen doubles as the bar in our house. I even eat breakfast at my cab most mornings, while chipping away at Adventure Island.

I figure that even the highly improbably, absolute worst case scenario spill, where enough liquid is toppled onto the CP to drench the printed graphics, the MDF beneath, and simultaneously soak and short out all the electronics in the CP, it would set me back barely $200 and some time. I can live with that risk if it means knocking back Tokyo Teas while playing 'co-operative' Joust. :D

...I thought the idea was to have a girl or two at your side holding your beer while you played. At least, that's what this college dude (playing Dragon's Lair) I saw when I was a kid at Chucke E Cheeses did.

My arcade is beer friendly, ---Cleveland steamer--- its like a dr dre video when I play that thing...beer everywhere.

I am lucky however, there are zero electronics in my cabinet that houses the controls but even my last arcade had cupholders on the side.

My current machine will eventually have blue anodized recessed cup holders.

Edit: the pic below is of the former arcade, not the current one.
