Coin Doors and The NovaGem CDR from GGG
« on: August 13, 2009, 04:48:58 pm »
First up, I'm a total novice at arcade building, so bare with me. For my project, I really want to set up the coin door to accept tokens and add credits to the game rather than having a coin drop button on the CP.

But another thought that I am having stems from seeing the NovaGemCDR led "credit button". I was wondering if anyone has modified a coin door to accept these? And how easy/difficult it is to mod them into place?

I still think I am going to go with tokens for that authentic arcade feel, but the idea of using the Nova Gems is certainly tempting.

any thoughts? Worst case, curiosity will get the best of me and I'll order one to check it out once I get my door.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

You could always rig up a switch behind the coin rejects. That's how I have mine set up. I can accept coins, or just push the reject for credit.
