FS - Ultimarc's Arcade VGA 2 PCI-e version
« on: August 11, 2009, 06:15:47 pm »
Hi,

I've upgraded my system and no longer have use for my AVGA2 card.  It works perfectly.  Drivers not included but you can download them at http://www.ultimarc.com/avga2.zip

$85 shipped.  Normally sells for $97 + shipping by vendors here on the boards and at Ultimarc.

Thanks!

Good question, I'll have to take a look at it when I get home.  I know there are two flavors out there:

PCIe Version of the AVGA2:  ATI Radeon X550 chipset
PCIe Version of the AVGA2:  ATI Radeon HD2400 chipset

But their basic functionality is the same.

I just took a peek at it.  It is the ATI Radeon X550 chipset version.  (Both have 256mb of RAM onboard).

Out of curiosity which video card did you upgrade to?  Does it provide a good compromise between low res and newer games like STIV? (the new card that is)

I upgraded to an ATI HD 4670.  Although it's not an AVGA2, it's pretty close with the software driver hack installed.  It does run SFIV fine along with my older stuff.  I really would have rather kept the AVGA2 which is hardware based and worked like a champ.  Sad to see it go, but I don't really have a use for it now.
