I hope this is ok to ask this, I don't think I'm breaking any rules.

Is there anyone in the UK that has all or most of the Emumovies and Hyperspin files?

Since moving house I have gone from 800kbps DLs to less than 30kbps and I can no longer download any thing of decent size.

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to copy the files onto a external HDD if I sent it. Obv I would pay postage both ways. I could also make or trade you something for your effort.

I'm have donated to Emumovies in the past and I have just donated to Hyperspin for Gold membership. I needs be I can show you the reciepts for the donations or ask Circo/Dazz etc to confirm that I have paid.

I would help you out if I could but I've been wanting these myself for a while.

Tell me about it  :-\

We used to be on 8mb with Pipex and the telephone exchange was right on our road so we got a awesome connection. We're now with Tiscali since moving and were paying for 8mb as its there standard package. We were told our line could handle 2Mbps but after having it installed and running line checks we have found it only supports 256kb and we're so far from the exhange that its uber slow

Anyway, rant over. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

dont know if the tiscali take over will change this, i've been with tiscali for years and they have upgraded me 3 times for no cost as they introduce better stuff at the exchange so fingers crossed it'll improve for you. how much you paying, i pay £15 for 8mb so try and get a price reduction.

doesnt circo do cd's?
got COLOR codes from projects, post them here

add stuff to the uk wiki section

Yeah we are paying £15 a month too for '8mb'.

Its not really down to Tiscali as the line can only handle 256kb. It BT that needs to pull their finger out and upgrade the connection. So much for Blair etc wanting us to be one of the forerunners for high speed connections.  ::) If I lived in a cable enabled area it would be better as we could get Virgin BB but for some reaon we can't get cable, even though we live in a new build.

The cd's (or DVDs) are a good idea. I'll message Circo to see if he could sort me out. Maybe if I messaged someone over at Hyperspin they may be willing to burn me some DVDs too

Hi Franco, I used to have the full sets but lost the lot in a HD crash a while back. However, I have a nice 30mb connection at my house and if you can supply me with approprite links, passwords etc. (if needed) I can obtain the collection relatively quickly for you and get them put on a drive for you. If anyone knows if they are on a Megaupload, Rapidshare or Megashares account anywhere I can get them even faster as I have all these accounts and can download from these sources at my full bandwidth as opposed to torrent which can be up or down.

That sucks about your innertube connection...  Have you looked into cable if they have it in your area?  I used to benchmark about 200-300 kbps tops on DSL (downloads were usually about 36-52k) with 2 different providers because I am far from the central station.  Got cable and now I max out at 10+Mbps, and I regularly see download speeds near 700k~1Mbps.  Apparently cable uses repeaters to boost the signal along the way, so they don't have the same problems with signal strength on long cable runs.  Worth a shot.  :)

I wish we could get cable.  :'(

It really is a crap connection. I can't even watch youtube videos, I have to pause them and let them buffer for a while before playing them. Reading a picture heavy thread is a nightmare too.

Turnarcades has kindly offered to DL the files for me (after asking Circo for permission first) which is great for a quick fix but it's no solution in the long run. I hope they upgrade the exchanges etc soon but I can't see it happening for a while.

There is one main place, but due to them carrying full MAME romsets, we can't mention it here.
