The Effects Of Too Much Rock & Roll....
« on: May 31, 2009, 04:24:49 am »
Hello,
Here's a question for the jukebox folks who have speakers mounted in the same cabinet as their PC.

Has the music's vibration (over a period of time) caused any problems for touchscreens, mobo's or HDD's for anyone?  :dunno

Thanks!

  ;D

Thanks for the reply Barry...
As Barry goes, so does the PC Juke World.   :notworthy:

I considering cutting the bottom part (speaker enclosure) of my cabinet off.

Anybody else ???

I am one of the very few that has a full sound system in their juke which includes 2 15" bass speakers. I continually play it so I can hear it through the house and I haven't had any problems. I do have my hard drive rubber mounted with a cooler and makes a big difference. I also have a commercial audio amp that sheilds the hard drive from any magnetic fields.

Hello,
What do you have for a monitor?  ???
I like the idea of rubber mounting or maybe even small coil spring supports for the HDD.
Wow ! 2x15" woofers  :applaud:,
Yeah...now I'm thinking I'm putting to much thought into this project.

I decided to go with a 40watt, 2.1 computer type speakers so the tuned port woofer is already enclosed & shielded in it's own cabinet.

Thanks!

Right now I am still using a 17" monitor but have a flat screen to install. I just gota get time to do it and make a new bezel around the monitor.

The bad thing about coil springs is there still the tranfer vibration, the best is rubber. This is what I am using:

You can see my juke at projects page under Art Deco Jukebox
