Juke key mapping
« on: February 15, 2009, 07:31:32 pm »
I have gone through the list and everything I have tried out won't work for some reason.  I am looking for a jukebox software with these functions.  It seems people like freebox, but I don't know if it passes these requirements or not.

1. 640X480 monitor resolution
2. Need to be able to custom map keys in my cab through Ipac
3. Would like to show album covers, etc.
4. Would like to be able to create playlists.

I am going to run this through my gameex frontend.  The gameex FE has a bug that is preventing me from using playlists and the jukebox interface leaves some to be desired as well.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance.

Why not download it and try?

It does what you want but there are no 640 x 480 skins for it right now. The lowest resolution skin is 800 x 600, it will do 640 x 480 if a skin is made for that resolution.

Freebox is designed to use with a touchscreen in mind and not with arcade controllers, also best use with a dedicated touchscreen/trackball jukeboxes.

My own software, MultiFE and the discounted Arcade Music box was designed to use with arcade controllers.

MultiFE is designed for use with 640x480 resoulution in mind, includning rotation, but show fine with higher ones too. Arcade Music Box can been used even with 320x240/321x240 (ArcadeVGA), why I still have it as download, even it discounted a long time ago.

MultiFE does howover not support playlist files yet, but can add a whole album to the queue. MultiFe support singles nicely too. I remember Arcade Music Box did support playlists, but it could been a lots better.

DWJukebox, Arcade Jukebox 8, AussieJuke should been tested too.

As AussieJuke said look in the wike and use the software you like.
Decade Old Work: MultiFE, ArcadeMusicBox
Today Works: Various Spectrum Next games from Rusty Pixels and html5 games.

I have continued to try the different proggy's, but it seems a waste when I download and they don't work or have the wrong resolution.  Anyway,  I love the SK jukebox interface, but it just doesn't work.  I am not sure how to get album images into the program (gameex has them all automatically somehow).  Plus SK jukebox plays one second of sound and then cuts out, so even if I get past the album artwork issue, I am stumped on having no sound.

I will check out the ones you guys have recommended next...  Thanks for the recos.
