39 in 1 arcade classic jamma
« on: November 23, 2008, 11:37:40 pm »
I got an Arcade Classics 39-1 at a swap meet and it was working fine when I bought it. I went to get my truck and when I got back there were two guys looking in the back of the machine. I asked what they were doing and they said they were just looking at the board for the game. Everything still looked fine and the machine was still going through the attract mode. When I got home the machine turned on fine but is no longer in free play mode and the box was put together with no credit switch. I was wondering if anyone knows the positions of the 4 switches on the board. I don't want to point fingers, but I thought it was weird one of the guys gave me his # and said if I had any problems with it he would be interested in the machine. I would call him but I don't think he would tell me the switch positions.

The dip switches on the PCB wont help you.

#1 is for flipping the screen.
#2 is for CGA or VGA
#3 is for high score save
#4 isnt used on the 39-1

You need to install a test and service button to your loom.
See this pic for reference:

Once you have installed those buttons, turn machine off, hold the test button down and power the machine up. It will boot into a menu. 1st screen will be the test pattern to adjust your screen.
Press the test button twice again and it will go to the coin adjust screen. Use the joystick to navigate around and press button 1 to make changes. You will see the free play option.

Also, the service button will 'insert' credits.

Press player 1 start button to save any changes before you power off.

Also note that each time you press the test button you will scroll through each 39 games and you will be able to make changes to them.

Lemme know how you get on.
