Lexan or Palsun?
« on: September 19, 2008, 09:09:02 am »
I am at the stage of choosing plastic and last time I used Acrylic for my cab and the results were not the best.

So this time around I plan on using Lexan. I found a place that supplies it, but I also found this alternative, Palsun (read here: http://www.rssupplyinc.com/lexan_sheet_florida_the_palsun_choice.aspx )

It boasts that it is as good as Lexan, just cheaper. What do you guys think?

The quote came in at £40 for all that I need for the Palsun, but £65 for the Lexan from Bay Plastics in the UK.

Same material (polycarbonate), different (brand name from) different manufacturer.  Don't know how good a brand it is, but probably fine.

£40-60?? What are the dimensions of the piece you need?

You can get a 1000x500x5mm piece of poly carb from these guys on ebay for ~£25 delivered. Im getting all of my acrylic and polycarb from them for my projects.

[this] is the ebay link. They will even cut it to rough size for you.
