Random Game Start Up Screen in Maximus Arcade
« on: August 04, 2008, 09:12:26 am »
I would like to have a random video to play everytime I start the cab. Is this possible in MA?

If not I thought it would be a nifty little app to have, that way everytime you turn it on you get a different experience.

Also, was thinking is it possible to randomise background sounds in MA?

Looking at adding the arcade ambiance (courtesy of Andy Hofle) to the background to give a real arcade feel and thought it would be cool to have different eras playing everytime the machine boots up!

Yes you can run random "movies" everytime you start up MA.  In the preferences screen, under the options tab, there is a startup movie tab.  There should be a checkbox to play random movies (you'll have to point/browse MA to the folder where the movies are held).  Thats it.

Not sure about "randomising" background sounds in MA.  I have arcade ambiance running in mine but I'm not sure if it always starts out with the same "era" or not.  Since its background noise I dont usually pay that close of attention.

Is there a way to randomise the game start up screen?

For example, I want different Marvel quotes when I start a game like "It's Clobbering Time" or "Come and get us web head" or "Venom wants to play!" or "Spider sense... tingling", etc.

Is there anyway to do this?
